DescriptionThe whole story▼
Many owners of small sports bikes have a story like this: the bike went over at a standstill, on a soft verge or a sloping car park, and it went over to the left. The side stand is on that side, and so is the clutch lever, whose end is usually the first thing to touch the ground. The ESH250 from Accossato is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the CBR300R of 2014 to 2021, a replacement for a lever bent in such a moment, and one whose distance to the grip can be adjusted.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda CBR300R, 2014 to 2021
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Standard length approximately 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub with a blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green
- Rigid lever without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
The ESH250 is milled from solid aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised, black at the hub and in your chosen colour along the blade. Anodising forms the coloured layer within the surface of the metal instead of painting it on, so everyday scuffs from gloves and jacket cuffs do not lift it off. It is a fixed lever, one continuous piece from the pivot to the tip. That keeps the clutch feel free of play, but it also means the lever is no better protected in a fall than the original, and it is fair to say so plainly.
Why the Left Lever Breaks First
Most slow drops happen when the bike is almost at rest: the side stand is not fully out, it sinks into soft ground, or a boot lands on gravel at a junction. The CBR300R is light enough to be caught more often than a big bike, but when it cannot be, it lies down on its left side and the clutch lever takes the load at its tip. A bent lever should be replaced rather than straightened, because aluminium that has been bent back can crack later. When you fit the ESH250, use the moment to set the reach for your hand, then check the free play of the clutch cable with the engine off, so that the clutch still engages fully. Choose the length with care as well. The short blade leaves less metal beyond the fingers, while the standard and long blades give a lighter pull. And look at the side stand itself: a stand that does not swing fully out is often the real reason the bike fell.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH250 for the CBR300R from 2014 to 2021, fitted at the original clutch mounting. No other versions of the bike are named in the list. The matching EDF025 brake lever is listed for the same model years, and ordered in the same colour, the pair gives both ends of the CBR300R's handlebar the same finish.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the ESH250 clutch lever, so it is sold for the race track.
Scope of Delivery
