DescriptionThe whole story▼
A 125 teaches you to use the gearbox. On the CB125F, an exposed road into a stiff headwind or a long climb out of town is enough to pull the speed down, and the answer is nearly always the same: change down, keep the small single in its useful revs and let it pull. That means more work for the left hand than on a bigger motorcycle. Accossato's ESH626 is a clutch lever for the CB125F of 2019 and 2020, machined from aluminium, with a reach that can be set for quick, short pulls.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Honda CB125F, model years 2019 and 2020
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Three blade lengths, the standard approximately 138 mm
- Machined aluminium, anodised
- Hub black; blade in one of seven colours
- One-piece, non-folding blade
- Sold for track use: no German ABE on record
Construction and Material Quality
On a small, light motorcycle like the CB125F, the levers are among the parts you notice most, both in the hand and at a glance. The ESH626 is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment and then anodised. Its hub is black and houses the pivot and the reach adjuster, while the blade takes the colour you choose, from a discreet black or silver to a bright orange or green. The lever is rigid, with no hinge between hub and tip, so each pull feels identical to the last.
Into the Wind, Up the Hill
Small engines are sensitive to anything that adds resistance. A headwind on an open road, a steady gradient or a passenger all ask the CB125F for more than it can give in top gear, and the speed begins to fall away. Waiting until the engine labours before you change down wastes momentum that is hard to win back. The better habit is to change down early, as soon as the speed starts to drop, so the engine stays in the part of its rev range where it pulls with the most vigour. On a long climb that may mean two downshifts in quick succession, then an upshift as the road levels out. Each change should be short and crisp: pull the lever far enough to free the gear, move the pedal firmly and let the clutch back out smoothly. That is much easier when the blade sits close enough for the fingers to catch it without loosening their hold on the grip. Try the short blade if you like to change gear with two fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESH626 is listed by Accossato for the CB 125 F from 2019 to 2020 and mounts at the original clutch mounting. The EDF025 brake lever covers the same bike and years, with the same black hub and colours, so both levers of the CB125F can be matched. If you want the short blade, choose blue, gold, green, orange or silver; black and red are made as standard levers.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE documented for the ESH626; it is offered for use on the track.
