DescriptionThe whole story▼
Sitting on a Scrambler 1100, your hands are wide apart and your back is upright, a comfortable place to be until the wrists start to bend at the levers. On a wide handlebar, the angle of the lever and its distance from the grip decide whether your left wrist stays straight through a day of riding. The Accossato ESD022 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the 2018 to 2019 Scrambler 1100, fitted to the original clutch mounting, with an adjustable reach.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Scrambler 1100 of 2018 and 2019
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Standard length about 138 mm; long blade in blue, gold, green and orange
- Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver
- Black anodised hub with coloured blade
- Solid aluminium, CNC-machined, no folding joint
- Sold for track use; no German ABE documented
Construction and Material Quality
Like its partner on the brake side, the ESD022 is milled from solid aluminium and anodised in two tones: a black hub and a blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. The anodised layer is part of the metal's surface, so the colour holds up to gloves and polishing cloths. The lever is fixed, with no joint between hub and tip, and the reach adjuster sits at the hub near the pivot.
Wide Bars, Straight Wrists
With a wide bar, the elbows go out and the forearms point inwards towards the grips. If the clutch lever sits too far out, the fingers reach forward while the wrist bends upwards, which is tolerable for an hour and tiring for a day. Bringing the ESD022 closer to the grip lets the fingers take the lever while the back of the hand stays in line with the forearm. Check the angle as well: sitting on the Scrambler 1100 with your feet on the pegs, the lever should point down roughly along the line of your forearm. If it does not, the clutch assembly can usually be turned on the bar before you fine-tune the reach. The long blade adds leverage for riders who want a light pull through town, while the standard one feels most like the lever Ducati fitted.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list names the Scrambler 1100 of 2018-2019 for the ESD022, and the lever goes on in place of the stock one, using the original clutch mounting. Later model years are not on the list for this lever. The EDB012 is the brake lever for the same years, made in the same colours and lengths, if you want the two sides of the bar to match.
Road Approval
The ESD022 is sold for track use, since no German ABE has been documented for it.
