DescriptionThe whole story▼
A wet track day is when a Panigale V4 R feels most like a lot of motorcycle. The moments that ask most of the rider are the slow ones: leaving the pit lane on cold tyres, rolling through the first corners, feeding in the drive without starting a slide. Those are clutch moments. The Accossato ESH011 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the V4 R, fitted on the standard clutch mounting, with an adjustable distance to the grip. Accossato lists it for 2019 to 2020.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Panigale V4 R, 2019 to 2020 according to Accossato
- Uses the original clutch mounting
- Reach to the grip adjustable
- Standard blade about 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
- Black hub, coloured blade, both anodised
- CNC-machined aluminium
- No hinge in the blade
- No German ABE documented, track use
Construction and Material Quality
The ESH011 is CNC-machined from solid aluminium and anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade. Anodising gives the surface a hard, even skin that stands up to the abrasion of gloves and to the grit that rain washes across a cockpit, and there is no paint to chip. As a fixed lever it has no folding joint, and the adjuster for the grip distance is set into the hub close to the pivot. On the V4 R that means one less moving part on the left side of the bar.
When the Session Is Wet
In the wet, the rear tyre forgives much less at the moment the drive arrives, and a clutch that bites suddenly can start a slide before the bike is even leaned over. What helps is a lever position that lets you release it slowly and precisely, with the fingers already resting on the blade rather than reaching for it. Wet gloves also tend to swell and stiffen, so if you set the reach in dry kit, check it again once the gloves are soaked. On the V4 R, the standard blade gives good leverage for a slow release, and a long blade, offered in blue, gold, green and orange, lightens the pull further. The short blade is for riders who prefer two-finger clutch work in all conditions. Either way, a calm left hand means a calm rear tyre in the first metres out of the pit lane.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this ESH011 for the Panigale V4 R of 2019 and 2020, the first two model years of the R. Later model years are not on Accossato's list for this clutch lever. For the brake side, Accossato names both the EDF011 (2019 to 2020) and the EDF099 (2019 to 2024).
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for this clutch lever; we sell it for use on the track.
