DescriptionThe whole story▼
Clip-ons low on the fork, a long reach over the tank: the Panigale 1299 puts its rider in a racing crouch, and the left wrist feels it most. It is bent while the hand holds the bar, and it bends further every time the fingers stretch forward to the clutch. Over a day on the road, that small movement repeated hundreds of times is what makes wrists sore. Accossato's ESH011 is a clutch lever for the Panigale 1299 from 2015 to 2018, cut from aluminium and anodised, with a reach that can be brought closer to the grip.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Panigale 1299 and 1299 R, 2015 to 2018
- Reach adjustable to reduce stretching of the wrist
- Replaces the original lever on the clutch mounting
- Blade in short, standard (approximately 138 mm) or long
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, blade in one of seven colours
- Rigid one-piece design, boxed
Construction and Material Quality
The ESH011 is machined from aluminium and anodised in two tones, a black hub and a blade in the colour you choose. Machined parts have crisp edges and a consistent section, and the anodised surface is hard-wearing. The lever is fixed: blade and hub are one rigid piece, so the whole pull of your fingers goes into the clutch.
Clip-ons and the Clutch Wrist
Look at your left hand on a Panigale 1299 from the side. With the bar low and forward, the wrist is already angled, and if the clutch blade sits far out, the fingers have to reach forward before they can pull, which bends the wrist even more. Bringing the lever closer means the fingers find the blade with less movement, and the wrist stays in a more neutral position through every pull.
How close is right? Sit on the bike in your normal position, let your left arm relax, and let your fingers drop onto the blade. They should land on it at the first or second joint without the hand shifting on the grip. Then check that the clutch still frees fully when the lever is pulled all the way. The length adds its own effect: a longer blade lets the fingers pull further from the pivot with less effort, which also helps a tired wrist, and it is made in blue, green, orange and gold.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the Panigale 1299, together with a 1299 R, for the ESH011, which replaces the original clutch lever. Its catalogue continues to 2020, yet the 1299 gave way to the Panigale V4 in 2018, so this product is listed for 2015 to 2018. The matching brake lever for these model years is the EDF099.
Road Approval
With no German ABE documented, the ESH011 is offered for track use.
