DescriptionThe whole story▼
Few Multistrada 1200 S owners leave the handlebar exactly where Ducati put it. Taller riders fit risers, others want a little more sweep, and those who ride standing on rough roads look for a higher bar. Every one of those changes moves the grip, and with it the spot where the clutch lever meets your fingers. The Accossato ESH011 is a machined aluminium clutch lever for the Multistrada 1200 S from 2010 to 2020. Its distance to the grip can be adjusted, so the lever can be set again after the bar has moved.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Multistrada 1200 S, 2010 to 2020
- Reach adjustable after any change to the handlebar
- Replaces the lever on the original clutch mounting
- Anodised aluminium from the CNC machine
- Three blade lengths, with the standard one at approximately 138 mm
- Black hub, blade in blue, red, orange, gold, silver, green or black
- Fixed blade, no joint; comes boxed
Construction and Material Quality
Every ESH011 is cut from aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised in two tones. The black hub holds the pivot bore and the reach adjuster. The blade, in the colour you choose, is joined to it as one rigid piece, so there is no second hinge between your fingers and the clutch. The anodised surface is part of the metal itself and does not peel, which is useful on a bike whose controls spend their life in the open.
Risers, Wider Bars and the Clutch
Raising or pulling back the handlebar changes the angle of your wrist, and the clutch lever, which stays mounted on the bar, suddenly sits in a slightly different place relative to your fingers. Often it ends up a little too far forward or too steep. The adjuster lets you bring the blade back to where your fingers close naturally without touching anything else on the bike.
After any bar change, sit on the bike in your normal riding position and set the reach first, then rotate the lever mounting on the bar if its angle no longer suits your wrist, and finally check the reach once more. Turn the handlebar from one lock to the other and make sure the lever, hoses and cables move freely without touching the tank or bodywork. If your new position has you pulling the clutch with a straighter arm, the long blade, made in blue, green, orange and gold, gives your fingers a little more leverage.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the ESH011 for the Multistrada 1200 S from 2010 to 2020, and also for the S Pikes Peak from 2012 to 2014 and the S Touring of 2013. On the brake side of the Multistrada 1200 S, Accossato's lever is the EDF099.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the ESH011; it is offered for track use.
