DescriptionThe whole story▼
For riders from the continent, a tour of Britain or Ireland on a K 1600 GTL begins with a change of habits: everything happens on the other side of the road. Roundabouts run clockwise, right turns cross the oncoming traffic, and at every junction part of your brain is busy remembering which way to look first. It helps when the controls need no thought at all. The ESB002 from Accossato, machined from aluminium for the K 1600 GTL of 2011 to 2016, fits the original clutch mounting and lets you set its reach to your hand.

Construction and Material Quality
A long tour abroad is no time for parts that need attention, and the ESB002 needs very little. It is machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, anodised so that the colour is part of the surface rather than a coat on top, and made as one fixed piece without a folding joint. The black hub contains the pivot bore and the adjuster, and the blade is black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. A wipe with a damp cloth keeps the anodised finish clean.
Riding on the Left
The first day on the left is the hardest, and the typical mistakes happen at low speed: pulling out of a car park or a fuel station onto the wrong side, or turning into the right-hand lane out of habit. The busiest moments are junctions, where you stop, look, choose a gear and go, and a heavy tourer with a passenger aboard leaves little room for a fumbled start. Make the controls automatic before you leave home, so that your attention can go to the road. On the K 1600 GTL, that means a clutch that bites where your hand expects it, every time, so pulling away takes no conscious thought. Set the ESB002's reach in the garage with your touring gloves on, and ride a few days at home to get used to it. Once abroad, a small reminder to keep left, stuck where you will see it before every departure, does the rest.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESB002 fits the K 1600 GTL built from 2011 to 2016, at the original clutch mounting. From the 2017 model year, Accossato's list switches to a different clutch lever for the K 1600 GTL, the ESC075, which has its own product page. If you want a matching brake lever for the earlier bike, the EDB001 is the one to choose.
Road Approval
This clutch lever carries no documented German ABE and is sold for the race track.
