DescriptionThe whole story▼
A big touring bike is at its most exposed not on the open road but at junctions, when it has to pull out into fast traffic from a standstill. The K 1600 GT has the engine to do that briskly, and its six-cylinder pulls smoothly from low revs, but the start still depends on the clutch. On the K 1600 GT of 2017 to 2022, Accossato's ESC075 takes the place of the stock clutch lever at the original mounting; it is CNC-machined from aluminium, and its distance to the grip is adjustable.

- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised; black hub

Construction and Material Quality
The ESC075 is a different reference from the ESB002 that Accossato lists for the earlier K 1600 GT, but it is made in the same way: milled from aluminium on CNC machines, then anodised, with the pivot bore and the reach adjuster in a black hub and the blade in the colour you order. It is a fixed lever, one piece from hub to tip, so there is no joint that could add play over the years. Its colour and length options are not the same as those of the ESB002, so check the list above before you choose.
Pulling Out Into Fast Traffic
Waiting at a side road for a gap in fast traffic, you want to be able to commit the moment it appears. Hesitation is the enemy: a start that is too timid leaves a heavy bike crawling across the lane while traffic closes in, and one that is too abrupt can unsettle it or spin the rear tyre on a dusty junction. The answer is preparation. Have first gear selected, the clutch held at the edge of the friction point and your eyes on the gap rather than on the controls. When you go, release the lever steadily and add throttle in one smooth motion, keeping the bike upright until it is rolling, then turn. On the K 1600 GT, with its generous low-down pull, the release can be progressive without costing time. Holding the friction point while you wait is easier when the lever is close enough that your fingers are not at full stretch, and the ESC075's reach adjuster lets you set exactly that. The long blade gives a lighter pull; the short one suits two-finger riders.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESC075 covers the K 1600 GT from 2017 to 2022 in Accossato's list. The earlier bikes of 2011 to 2016 have their own clutch lever in the list, the ESB002, which also appears for the K 1600 GT Sport of 2018; with both listed for that year, a look at the product photos settles which one your bike needs. The ESC075 mounts at the original clutch mounting. For the front brake of these later bikes, the EDB001 is listed through 2022 and the EDB077 for 2017 to 2019.
Road Approval
German road approval is not documented for the ESC075, so we sell it for use on closed circuits.
