DescriptionThe whole story▼
Adventure riders wear adventure boots: tall, stiff, protective, and not very good at feeling a gear lever. On a Benelli TRK 502 that means the left hand has to take over more of the fine work, pulling the clutch cleanly for every change so that the foot's clumsier movements matter less. The Accossato ESD037 is a clutch lever for the TRK 502 of 2017 and 2018, machined from aluminium, fitted to the original clutch mounting and adjustable in reach.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Benelli TRK 502, 2017 to 2018
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance to the grip
- Short, standard (about 138 mm) or long blade, depending on colour
- CNC-machined from solid aluminium, anodised
- Black hub, blade in seven colours
- Fixed lever with no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Aluminium is the natural material for a lever: it is light, it can be machined to fine tolerances, and it takes an anodised finish well. Accossato makes use of all three properties in the ESD037. The lever is milled from solid aluminium on CNC machines and then anodised in two colours, the hub black and the blade in the shade you choose. Inside the hub are the pivot and the reach adjuster. The blade is fixed, with no folding joint, and runs in one piece to its tip.
Heavy Boots, Precise Hands
Stiff boot soles protect your feet on rocky ground, but they also blur the feedback from the gear lever. Riders in adventure boots often find that the occasional gear is missed, or that a change needs a firmer push than usual. A full, confident pull of the clutch helps: with the drive completely interrupted, the gearbox shifts with less effort from the foot, and the change is quicker and cleaner. That relies on a lever your fingers can pull all the way without stretching. Set the reach so that the blade meets your fingers in their natural curve, then check that you can pull it right back to the grip in your riding gloves. On long days with many changes, the long blade in blue, gold, green or orange makes each pull a little lighter. Riders who like to keep two fingers on the bar while shifting will find the short blade easier on the TRK 502.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the TRK 502, Accossato's catalogue shows the ESD037 for 2017 and 2018. It is fitted to the original clutch mounting and replaces the lever Benelli installed at the factory. On the right-hand side, the EDF016 brake lever covers the same two years and offers the same choice of colours and lengths.
Road Approval
No German ABE has been documented for this clutch lever, which we therefore sell for the track.
