DescriptionThe whole story▼
Summer tours tend to end by the sea, and the last kilometre is often the slowest of the whole trip: a seafront road full of pedestrians, cyclists, parked cars and drivers looking for somewhere to stop. On the Benelli BN 600 GT, the inline four would happily run at speed all afternoon, but along the promenade it is the left hand that sets the pace. The Accossato ESD037 is a clutch lever for the BN 600 GT of 2015 and 2016, machined from aluminium, fitted at the original clutch mounting and adjustable in reach.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Benelli BN 600 GT, 2015 to 2016
- Replaces the standard lever at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance from the grip
- Standard length about 138 mm; short and long blades in selected colours
- Black hub; blade in one of seven anodised colours
- Milled from solid aluminium on CNC machines
- Rigid blade, no folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Sea air is hard on metal parts, and anodised aluminium stands up to it better than bare metal does. Accossato machines the ESD037 from solid aluminium on CNC equipment and then anodises the whole part, the hub in black and the blade in the colour you choose. The pivot and the reach adjuster sit in the hub. The blade extends from it as one continuous piece; the ESD037 is a fixed lever and does not fold. After a coastal trip, a rinse with fresh water keeps the surface looking as it should.
Seafront Promenades at Walking Pace
A promenade on a summer evening is one of the slowest roads you will ever ride. Traffic moves at walking pace, pedestrians step out between parked cars, and the bike spends minutes on end in first gear. At tickover, the four-cylinder engine would pull the BN 600 GT along smoothly enough, but only if the clutch lets it: slipping slightly, feeding in the drive gently, then pulled in again as the car in front stops. In the heat, with the engine warm, that is tiring work for the left hand. Bring the lever closer with the adjuster until two fingers hold the friction point comfortably, so the rest of the hand can stay relaxed on the grip. If your fingers tire, a long blade in blue, gold, green or orange makes the pull lighter. And when the traffic stops for longer, selecting neutral gives the hand a proper rest.
Fitment and Compatibility
Two model years, 2015 and 2016, are on Accossato's list for the ESD037 on the BN 600 GT. The lever goes onto the original clutch mounting where the standard one used to be. Its counterpart for the front brake is the EDF016, made in the same colours and with the same black hub.
Road Approval
German road approval: none documented. The ESD037 is therefore sold for closed-circuit use.
