DescriptionThe whole story▼
Yamaha introduced the XSR700 XTribute for 2019 as a nod to the XT500, its single-cylinder trail bike of the 1970s, and the look invites a certain kind of kit: an open-face helmet, buckled boots and thin off-road gloves instead of padded road gloves. Those gloves change how the brake lever feels. Accossato's EDF016 lets the lever follow the glove. Listed for the XSR700 XTribute from 2019 to 2022, it is machined from aluminium, fits the original master cylinder and adjusts for reach.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the XSR700 XTribute, model years 2019 to 2022
- Fits the original front master cylinder
- Reach adjustable for thin or padded gloves
- Short, standard (approximately 138 mm) or long blade
- Machined from aluminium, anodised; hub in black
- Seven blade colours
- Rigid blade without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
Thin gloves pass on more of what the fingers touch, so the surface of a lever matters more than usual. The EDF016 is milled from solid aluminium on CNC machines, which leaves a clean, even profile, and then anodised, a hard-wearing finish for the places where the fingertips rest. The hub is black on every lever, the blade in the colour you order. From the pivot to the tip the blade is fixed and continuous, with no joint between your fingertips and the master cylinder.
Off-Road Gloves on a Road Bike
Off-road gloves are thin in the palm and fingers, with little padding and usually no knuckle armour. They give a lot of feel, which suits a bike styled after an enduro, but they also change the distance between palm and lever compared with a bulky road glove. If the lever was set for thicker gloves, it now sits slightly too far away, and the first part of the pull is spent reaching. With the EDF016's adjuster you can bring the blade in to match the thin glove, so braking begins as soon as the fingers close. The short blade suits two-finger braking on the XSR700 XTribute, especially on the gravel lanes the bike's looks invite you onto. If you switch between light gloves in summer and heavier ones in autumn, reset the reach whenever you change.
Fitment and Compatibility
The EDF016 appears in Accossato's list for the XSR 700 X Tribute from 2019 to 2022. It mounts on the XTribute's original front master cylinder and replaces the stock lever. The matching clutch lever is Accossato's ESY688, listed for the same four model years, so brake and clutch can be ordered in one colour or deliberately in two.
Road Approval
Please note: no German ABE is documented for this brake lever, and it is sold for track riding.
Scope of Delivery
The EDF016 comes as a single lever in Accossato's box, finished in the colour and length you ordered.
