DescriptionThe whole story▼
In Italian, stradale simply means belonging to the road, and the name fits the Stradale 800: a three-cylinder MV Agusta aimed at everyday riding rather than at lap times. Everyday riding means rain, commuting, a trip at the weekend and a great deal of gentle braking in between. The Accossato EDF015 replaces the Stradale's front brake lever. It mounts on the original master cylinder, is milled from aluminium and can be set closer to or further from the grip. Accossato lists it for the 2015 model year.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the MV Agusta Stradale 800, model year 2015
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Standard blade approx. 138 mm; short and long blades in selected colours
- Seven anodised colours on the blade, hub always black
- Machined on CNC equipment from solid aluminium
- Fixed lever without a folding joint
Construction and Material Quality
For a bike that is ridden in all weathers, the finish of a lever matters as much as its shape. Accossato machines the EDF015 from solid aluminium and then anodises it, a process that converts the surface of the metal into a hard, coloured layer instead of adding a coating that rain and road grime can creep under. The hub is black on every lever; the blade takes the colour you select. As a fixed lever it has no hinge and no spring, only one continuous blade between your fingers and the master cylinder.
What the Name Promises
Most braking on a road bike is not dramatic. It is slowing for a roundabout, easing off behind a lorry, stopping at a zebra crossing because someone is waiting at the kerb. These are small, frequent movements, and over a long day they add up to hundreds. For riding of this kind, the lever should sit where your fingers curl naturally, so that the first part of its travel can be used with feeling rather than as an on-off switch. On the Stradale 800, the standard blade will suit most riders, since it is closest to the original. If you have smaller hands, or ride in thin summer gloves, bring the blade closer. In thick winter gloves, move it outwards so that it does not rest on your fingers before you begin to brake. The long blade in blue, gold, green or orange gives gloved fingers a little more to hold.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF015 for the Stradale 800 in a single model year, 2015, as a replacement for the standard lever on the original front brake master cylinder. A matching Accossato clutch lever for the Stradale 800 is not part of our range, so this product covers the brake side only.
Road Approval
We have no documentation of a German ABE for the EDF015, so it is supplied for use on the track.
Scope of Delivery
