DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V7 II Stone is the plainest of the V7 II models, with cast wheels and a simpler finish than its siblings, and it is often the first motorcycle for people who have driven cars for years. For them, one habit needs rewriting: in a car, the brake is under the right foot, while on a motorcycle most of the stopping comes from the right hand. The Accossato EDF016 is a brake lever for the V7 II Stone of 2015 to 2017, milled from aluminium, mounted on the bike's own master cylinder and adjustable in its reach to the grip.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Moto Guzzi V7 II Stone (ABS 750), listed 2015 to 2017
- Mounts on the original front master cylinder
- Distance to the grip adjustable
- Blade lengths: short, standard approximately 138 mm, long
- Seven blade colours, black hub
- Machined from solid aluminium and anodised
- Rigid blade, no folding joint
- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills the EDF016 from a solid block of aluminium and anodises it, the hub in black and the blade in the colour you order. The hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster; the blade continues from it in one piece, without a hinge. The result is a lever that feels firm and direct, which helps a new rider learn how much pressure produces how much braking, because nothing in the lever itself gives way.
From Car Pedal to Brake Lever
A car driver's right foot knows its job by heart: it covers the pedal in traffic, presses progressively, and adjusts pressure without conscious thought. On the V7 II Stone, that knowledge has to move to the right hand, and the rear brake pedal, the part that feels familiar, is only the smaller half of the braking. Three habits make the transfer easier. In town, rest one or two fingers lightly on the lever when a hazard appears, the equivalent of hovering over the pedal, so the brake is ready without a reach. Squeeze rather than grab, building pressure the way a good driver presses the pedal. And use both brakes together, with the lever doing the larger share. All three depend on the lever sitting where the fingers expect it. Set the EDF016 so the blade lies under your fingertips when your hand rests normally on the grip; resting fingers on a lever that is too far away quickly becomes tiring, and the habit is abandoned. The short blade, in blue, gold, green, orange or silver, suits the resting two-finger position.
Fitment and Compatibility
Several V7 Stone entries in Accossato's list carry the EDF016, and for the V7 II Stone they give 2015 to 2017. The lever replaces the stock blade on the Stone's original front master cylinder. The matching ESD037 clutch lever covers the V7 II Stone of 2015 and 2016 only. Black and red are available in the standard length only, silver in standard and short.
Road Approval
No documented German ABE exists for the EDF016, which is why it is sold for track use.
