DescriptionThe whole story▼
The V7 II Special is the classic version of Moto Guzzi's V7 II, with spoked wheels, chrome and a pair of round dials, and its manageable size and low seat make it a bike many riders choose early in their riding lives. Not every hand suits a lever set for an average rider, though. The Accossato EDF016 is a brake lever for the V7 II Special of 2015 to 2017. It is CNC-machined from aluminium, uses the stock master cylinder and has an adjustable reach, so the lever can come to a smaller hand.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Moto Guzzi V7 II Special (ABS 750), 2015 to 2017

- Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver
- Standard blade approximately 138 mm in all seven colours
- Machined aluminium, anodised, black hub

- No German ABE documented; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the EDF016 from solid aluminium, shaped on CNC machines and then anodised. The black hub contains the pivot and the adjuster, and the blade, in your choice of seven colours, runs from it to the tip as a single fixed piece. There is no hinge and nothing that folds, so the lever stays where you put it. Machining from the solid also gives it consistent, slim proportions, part of the reason it looks at home on a classic bike like the V7 II Special.
Bringing the Lever Closer
For riders with smaller hands, a brake lever set too far from the grip is more than a comfort issue. To reach it, the hand has to open wide and the fingers catch the blade with their tips, where they have the least strength, so the first part of every stop is weaker and less precise than it should be. On the V7 II Special, the adjuster of the EDF016 moves the blade closer, so the fingers can wrap over it at their first joint. Set it with the gloves you ride in, since thick gloves need a little more room. The short blade, which Accossato makes in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, can also suit smaller hands, because it concentrates the lever where the fingers actually are. After adjusting, check two things with the bike at a standstill: at full pull, the lever must not touch the grip or trap your knuckles, and the lever should move a short way before the brake begins to act. A newer rider who reaches the brake easily is more likely to use it early and progressively.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's catalogue lists the EDF016 under several V7 Special entries; for the V7 II Special, our product covers 2015 to 2017. The lever goes on the Special's original front master cylinder. On the clutch side, Accossato's ESD037 is listed for the V7 II Special in 2015 and 2016. Long blades exist in blue, gold, green and orange; black and red come in standard length only.
Road Approval
We offer this lever for the track only, since there is no documented German ABE for it.
