Ask track-day instructors when things go wrong and many will name the last session of the day. By late afternoon the body is tired and concentration has faded, and riders who feel they have learned the circuit start pushing just as their precision drops. On a ZX-10R, a machine that asks a lot of its rider, the effort each braking zone costs matters by then. The Accossato EDF099 is a brake lever for the Kawasaki ZX-10R of 2016 to 2020, the generation launched for the 2016 season. CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, it fits the original master cylinder and has an adjustable reach.

Construction and Material Quality
A lever that moves freely and without play needs less effort to read, which matters more as the day goes on. On the EDF099, the pivot bore and the reach adjuster in the hub are machined precisely enough for the blade to move smoothly. The finished lever is anodised: black for the hub on every version, and the colour of your choice for the blade. It is a fixed lever, with no folding joint, so the blade responds as one rigid piece from the first lap of the morning to the last.
The Last Session of the Day
Fatigue shows in the hands first. Forearms that were relaxed in the morning start to grip harder, the fingers lose some of their feel, and braking becomes a little later and a little rougher without the rider noticing. Three things help. Set the lever so that full braking needs no stretch: on the ZX-10R, adjust the EDF099 until the blade sits under the first joints of your braking fingers while the palm rests lightly on the grip. Drink and rest between sessions, because dehydration dulls concentration well before you feel thirsty. And be honest with yourself: if the laps feel ragged, sitting out the final session is a decision experienced riders make all the time. The short blade supports two-finger braking with the rest of the hand relaxed on the throttle, and it ends before the fingers that stay on the grip.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list enters the EDF099 as the lever for the ZX-10R 1000 of 2016 to 2020. It replaces the stock lever on the original front master cylinder. Earlier bikes, 2006 to 2015, take the EDF088, so check your model year before ordering. The clutch side of the ZX-10R is served by the ESK828, listed from 2004 to 2020.

No German ABE has been documented for the EDF099; we sell it for track use.
