DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every commuter knows the moment: the light ahead turns amber, and there is about a second to decide whether to stop or carry on. On a Kawasaki Z300 in town traffic that decision comes up many times a week, and a clean stop depends on how quickly and smoothly the right hand can act. The Accossato EDF025 is a brake lever for the Z300 of 2015 to 2018. Machined from aluminium and anodised, it fits the original master cylinder, and its distance from the grip can be set so that a firm but controlled stop starts with only a small movement of the fingers.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Kawasaki Z300, 2015 to 2018
- Fits the original master cylinder
- Distance to the grip adjustable near the pivot
- Standard blade approx. 138 mm, in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver and green
- Short blade in five colours, long blade in four
- Anodised aluminium, CNC-machined, black hub
- Fixed blade with no hinge
- No ABE documented for Germany, sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
A commuter bike is parked outside in all weathers, and bare aluminium left like that slowly turns dull and chalky. Anodising prevents it. On the EDF025 the treatment follows CNC machining and turns the surface of the aluminium into a dense oxide layer that also carries the colour. The hub, which holds the pivot and the reach adjuster, is always black; the blade is finished in the colour you pick. A single rigid piece with no hinge, the lever keeps the same feel from the first cold morning to the last.
Amber Light Decisions
The decision itself is about distance and speed, and it is easier to make well when you have planned for it. Approaching a light that has been green for a while, many experienced riders roll off slightly and rest two fingers on the lever, so that if it changes they are already braking rather than reaching. A glance in the mirror belongs to the same routine: a car close behind is a reason to brake earlier and more gently, giving its driver time to react to your brake light. On the Z300, set the EDF025 so the covering fingers rest on the blade naturally, without holding the hand in an unusual position. The short blade, available in every colour except black and red, suits this two-finger habit because the other fingers stay around the throttle. And when the choice is to stop, stop progressively: a firm squeeze that builds, not a grab.
Fitment and Compatibility
This EDF025 is intended for the Kawasaki Z300 of 2015 to 2018; the model was first sold as a 2015 bike. Accossato's catalogue records it as Z 300 and gives an earlier starting year, so we list the product from the Z300's actual launch only. The lever mounts on the original front master cylinder in place of the stock one. On the clutch side, the ESK025 covers the same years, so the Z300 can be fitted with a matching pair.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE on record for the EDF025, which is why we sell it for use on the track.
