DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Husqvarna 701 Enduro puts a big single-cylinder engine into a proper enduro chassis, which makes it as comfortable on a country road as on a forest track that has not dried out since spring. It is on that forest track, among ruts and wet roots, that braking asks the most of the rider's hand. The Accossato EDB012 replaces the 701's original front brake lever with a CNC-machined aluminium lever that mounts on the original master cylinder and can be adjusted in reach. Accossato lists it for 2017 to 2020.

Construction and Material Quality
Mud gets everywhere on an enduro bike, and the brake lever sits right in its path. The EDB012 is machined from solid aluminium on CNC machines and anodised, so its surface is hard and sealed and comes clean with water and a soft brush. The black hub carries the pivot and the reach adjuster, the two places worth a rinse and a look after a muddy ride. The blade, in the colour of your choice, is a single fixed piece, with no folding joint for mud to pack into.
Wet Roots and Deep Ruts
In a forest after rain, two things decide how a big enduro bike stops: what lies under the front tyre, and how gently the brake is applied. Wet roots can be as slippery as ice, and braking while the front wheel crosses one invites it to slide sideways. Ruts pose the opposite problem. Once the front wheel drops into one, it wants to stay there, and a sudden stab at the brake can tip the bike over. Experienced riders slow down before the roots and cross them with the brake released, and keep the bike rolling steadily through ruts, braking lightly and upright. On a 701 Enduro, which carries more weight than a competition enduro machine, that light touch counts for even more. It depends on a lever that one or two fingers can work while the rest of the hand holds the bar firmly, whether you are sitting down or standing on the pegs.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDB012 for the 701 Enduro from 2017 to 2020, where the model appears under the name Enduro LR 701. The lever mounts on the original front brake master cylinder. For the clutch, Accossato makes the ESA090, which has a longer listing for this bike, from 2016 to 2023.
Road Approval
For this front brake lever, no German ABE is documented. It is sold for use on closed tracks.
