DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many riders, the CB125R is the first motorcycle after years on a scooter. Honda styled it as the smallest of its Neo Sports Café family, and it has everything a larger naked has: a clutch, a gearbox, a front brake lever on the right and a rear brake pedal under the right foot. That last detail is where scooter habits trip people up. The Accossato EDF025 is a front brake lever for the 2019 and 2020 CB125R, machined from aluminium, adjustable for reach and made in three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Front brake lever for the Honda CB125R, 2019 and 2020
- Mounts on the original front master cylinder
- Adjustable reach for smaller or larger hands
- Short, standard (approx. 138 mm) and long blade
- Anodised aluminium in seven colours, hub black
- Fixed lever, no folding mechanism
- Packed in an Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF025 is milled from aluminium and anodised. Its hub, always black, holds the pivot and the adjuster that sets the distance to the grip; its blade is coloured and fixed to the hub rigidly, so the lever has no second joint that could introduce play. The anodised surface is hard and cannot flake off the way paint can, which is useful on a 125 that is often parked in tight rows of scooters and bicycles.
Where the Rear Brake Went
On most scooters, both brakes are in your hands: the right lever works the front, the left lever the rear, often with a linked system that brakes both wheels at once. On the CB125R, the left lever is the clutch, and the rear brake has moved to a pedal under your right foot. The right lever stays where it was and does what it always did, operating the front brake alone. New riders often lean on the rear pedal because it feels safer, yet the front brake does most of the work in a hard stop, so the right lever deserves attention from the first day. Set its reach so that you can squeeze it firmly with your hand in a natural position, not stretched open, and practise gradual, firm stops using both brakes together until the balance becomes instinctive. Riders with smaller hands, including many younger A1 riders, may find the short blade easier to handle, while the long one gives more leverage. On the CB125R, a front brake you trust is the foundation for everything that follows.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the CB125R, Accossato lists the EDF025 for the 2019 and 2020 model years, fitted to the original master cylinder. The clutch lever from the same range for these bikes is the ESH626. Later model years are not part of this listing, so check the year of your bike before ordering.
Road Approval
As no German ABE is documented for it, the EDF025 is offered as a track part.
