DescriptionThe whole story▼
Honda's CB125F is a motorcycle that earns its keep. Its air-cooled single, upright seat and simple layout have made it a common sight among commuters, learners and riders who deliver for a living, covering dozens of short trips a day. On a bike used like that, the brake lever is one of the most-used controls of all. Accossato's EDF025 is a brake lever for the CB125F of 2019 and 2020, machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, fitted to the original master cylinder and adjustable in its reach.
Key Features
- Replaces the front brake lever of the Honda CB125F, 2019 and 2020
- Uses the original Honda master cylinder
- Reach adjustable close to the pivot
- Standard blade about 138 mm; short and long in several colours
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised surface
- Black hub, seven blade colours
- Rigid construction, no folding joint
- No German ABE documented, sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
A working bike like the CB125F stands outside in all weathers, and its controls are handled with wet gloves, cold gloves and sometimes no gloves at all. The EDF025 is machined from aluminium and anodised, which gives the metal a hard, sealed surface that resists corrosion and has no paint to scratch through. Its hub, holding the pivot and the reach adjuster, is always black, and the blade carries one of seven colours. It is a fixed lever, one rigid piece, with no hinge to work loose over thousands of stops.
Hundreds of Stops a Day
A courier on a CB125F may brake to a standstill a few hundred times in a working day: junctions, crossings, doorsteps, the queue at the lights and the next address. A commuter's day is shorter, but the pattern is the same. Each stop takes only a moment, yet together they add up to a lot of work for one hand, and a lever that sits slightly too far away turns every stop into a small stretch. Over a day that becomes tension in the forearm, and by evening the fingers are slower than they were in the morning. On the CB125F, bringing the blade closer to the grip removes the stretch; the fingers close on it from their natural position, and a light squeeze does the job. The other half of an easy day is technique: roll off early, let the bike slow and use both brakes gently, so that no single stop needs much force. Most riders who brake with three or four fingers are well served by the standard blade.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF025 for the CB 125 F of 2019 and 2020, and it fits the original master cylinder of the bike. On the left side, the ESH626 clutch lever covers the same model years if you would like a pair. Blue, gold, green and orange come in all three lengths, silver in two, and black and red in the standard length only.
Road Approval
No German ABE is documented for the EDF025, so we sell it for track riding only.
