DescriptionThe whole story▼
Anyone who rides track days regularly carries a box of spares: brake pads, tape, a gear lever, cable ties. The brake lever belongs in there too, because a fixed lever that hits the tarmac in a low-side often does not survive it. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined brake lever for the Panigale V4 S from 2018 to 2024. It mounts on the original master cylinder and comes with adjustable reach, three blade lengths and seven colours, which makes it easy to keep an identical spare.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Panigale V4 S, 2018 to 2024
- Fits the original master cylinder
- Reach adjustable at the hub
- Standard, short and long blades; standard about 138 mm
- Seven colours, black hub
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Rigid lever without a folding joint
- No German ABE documented; sold for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
CNC machining from solid aluminium means one EDF099 closely matches the next, which is what you want from a part that may be swapped at the side of a track. The lever is anodised after machining, black at the hub and coloured along the blade, and it is a fixed design without any folding joint. A spare in the same length and colour therefore goes on your Panigale V4 S and feels like the one it replaces.
A Spare in the Track-Day Box
If a fall bends or snaps the brake lever, the day does not have to end there, provided a spare is to hand and someone in the paddock knows how to fit it correctly. Before you ride out again, set the reach to your usual position, check that the brake light works and that the lever returns fully, and make sure nothing else on the front end was damaged. A spare in the same length as the lever on the bike keeps your braking reference unchanged for the rest of the day. If your usual lever is a standard blade, a black spare is easy to tell apart in the box; if you prefer an exact match, order two in the same colour. A lever is a small part, but finding the right one at a circuit on a Saturday afternoon is rarely easy.
Fitment and Compatibility
Two Accossato brake levers are listed for the V4 S. This EDF099, filed as 998 S, runs from 2018 to 2024; the EDF011, filed as V4 1100 S, covers only 2018-2020. Where the years overlap, the photos of both products held next to the lever on your Panigale V4 S are the most reliable guide. On the left of the bar, Accossato's ESH011 is listed for V4 S bikes up to the 2020 model year.
Road Approval
For this brake lever no German ABE is documented. It is sold as a track part.
