Accossato's experience with brake discs comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and the Panigale V4 R belongs to the first of those worlds: it is the road version of the bike Ducati races in World Superbike. The EDF099 is Accossato's machined aluminium brake lever for the V4 R from 2019 to 2024. It goes on the original master cylinder in place of the stock lever and brings a reach adjuster, blades in three lengths and a choice of seven colours.

Construction and Material Quality
The EDF099 is CNC-machined from solid aluminium and anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade. The hub is where the adjustment happens: a reach adjuster close to the pivot changes where the blade rests, so the distance to the grip can be matched to your fingers rather than to an average hand. There is no joint between hub and tip, which keeps the feel at the blade direct on the Panigale V4 R.
Loose Arms Through a Session
Arm pump is the tightening of the forearm muscles that builds when a rider grips too hard for too long, and a session on a V4 R offers plenty of opportunity for it. Part of the cure is technique: holding the bike with the legs and keeping the arms soft. Part of it is how far the fingers have to travel. A lever that stands too far out makes you open the hand and pull from further away at every braking point, and over a whole session that adds up. Bringing the EDF099 in until the fingers can rest lightly on the blade along the straight reduces the movement. The short blade, which Accossato makes in five of its seven colours, lets two fingers brake while the rest of the hand stays loose on the throttle. A lever can help, but it cannot replace a relaxed upper body, so look at your grip on the bars as well.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Panigale V4 R from 2019 to 2024 under its 998 R reference. For 2019 and 2020 the list also shows the EDF011 for the R, so owners of early bikes have two candidates and should compare the photos with their original lever. The Accossato clutch lever for the V4 R, the ESH011, is listed for 2019 and 2020.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE here, and the lever is supplied for track riding.
