DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Panigale V4 of 2018 brought an engine derived from Ducati's racing V4 into the superbike range, together with an electronics package that watches over braking as closely as it watches acceleration. All of that still begins with one mechanical input: how quickly and how firmly your fingers close on the lever. The Accossato EDF011 is a machined aluminium brake lever for the Panigale V4, listed by Accossato for 2018 to 2020. It mounts on the original master cylinder, and its distance to the grip is adjustable.
Key Features
- EDF011 brake lever for the Panigale V4, 2018 to 2020
- Uses the original front brake master cylinder
- Reach adjustable to suit your hand
- Blade lengths: short, standard (approx. 138 mm), long
- Black anodised hub, blade in one of seven colours
- Milled from solid aluminium
- One-piece fixed blade
- Track use: no German ABE is documented
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF011 is cut from solid aluminium on CNC machines, which keeps the pivot bore, the adjuster seat and the blade profile consistent from one lever to the next. After machining it is anodised in two tones, the hub always black and the blade in the colour you order. There is no articulated section: between your fingers and the master cylinder of the Panigale V4, the lever acts as a single rigid arm.
Where the Electronics Take Over
Cornering ABS and the other systems on the bike can only regulate the pressure they are given. They cannot tell whether your fingers had to stretch before they started squeezing, or whether the first contact came late because the blade stood too far out. On the Panigale V4 this makes lever position a real part of braking. With the reach set so that the blade rests under the first joints of your fingers, the squeeze starts without a gap and the electronics receive a smooth, rising input rather than a hurried one. Owners who ride the V4 on track often choose the short blade for two-finger braking; on the road, the standard blade keeps a familiar feel. The long one, made in four colours, is there for riders who like the whole hand on the lever.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato has two brake levers on its list for the Panigale V4. This one, the EDF011, appears under a V4 1100 reference for 2018 to 2020; the EDF099 appears under a V4 998 reference for 2018 to 2024. Because both cover the early model years, compare the product photos with the original lever on your bike before choosing. For the clutch, Accossato lists the ESH011 for Panigale V4 models of 2018 to 2020.
Road Approval
We offer the EDF011 for track use, because a German ABE has not been documented for it.
