DescriptionThe whole story▼
The name comes from Colorado, from the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, a race up a mountain road that its fans call the Race to the Clouds. Ducati has given the name to the sporting versions of its Multistrada for years, and the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak continues that line. Its riders tend to use it the way the name suggests: hard, on twisty roads, sometimes on a circuit. For its front brake, Accossato offers the EDF099, cut from aluminium on CNC machines, adjustable in reach and made in three blade lengths for Pikes Peak models from 2022 to 2026.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak, 2022 to 2026
- Short blade for two-finger braking, standard (approximately 138 mm) and long also available
- Reach adjustable for race gloves or road gloves
- Fits the original front master cylinder
- Machined and anodised aluminium
- Seven blade colours with a black hub
- No folding joint; delivered boxed
Construction and Material Quality
Two finishes meet on every EDF099: a black anodised hub and a blade anodised in one of seven colours, both on the same machined aluminium part. Machining gives the lever sharp, consistent contours, and anodising gives it a durable coloured surface. There is no hinge in the blade, so under hard braking the whole lever works as a single stiff part, and its tip stays where you set it.
Uphill Against the Clock
A hill climb teaches a particular kind of braking. Going uphill, gravity helps to slow the bike, braking zones are short, and the next corner arrives quickly. The rider switches from throttle to brake and back again in a fraction of a second, and there is no time to search for the lever. On a winding mountain road, a Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak ridden briskly asks for the same thing.
A short blade and a close reach make that switch quicker. With two fingers already resting on the lever, braking starts the moment you decide to brake. Set the reach with the gloves you use for fast riding, whether that is a pair of race gloves for track days or sport gloves for the road, and make sure the lever does not press on the fingers that stay on the grip. Silver, gold, orange, green and blue are the colours made in the short length.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list, the Multistrada V4 Pikes Peak appears with this lever for the 2022 to 2026 model years, and the part takes over from the original lever on the front master cylinder. There is no Accossato clutch lever listed for this version, so the left side of the cockpit stays as Ducati delivered it.
Road Approval
This brake lever is sold for track use; a German ABE is not documented.
Scope of Delivery
