Tuono is Italian for thunder, a fair description of Aprilia's V4 naked bike heard from the saddle. The Tuono V4 1100 turns into corners as eagerly as it drives out of them, and much of that turning happens while the front brake is still lightly applied. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for this bike, listed for 2018 and again for 2021 to 2023. It mounts on the original master cylinder, and its distance to the grip is adjustable, so the finger pressure used for trail braking can come from a relaxed hand.

Construction and Material Quality
The lever's body is cut from a block of aluminium on CNC machines, which leaves the blade with a consistent section from end to end and no casting pores inside. Anodising comes next: black for the hub, which holds the pivot and the adjuster, and the colour of your choice for the blade. Because the blade is fixed and has no folding joint, the lever behaves the same under a light touch as under a firm pull, and the small changes in pressure on which trail braking depends are not swallowed by play.
Trail Braking From an Upright Seat
Trail braking means carrying a small, fading amount of front brake past the turn-in point, so the front tyre stays loaded while the bike begins to lean. On a sports bike with clip-ons, part of the rider's weight rests on the wrists; on the Tuono V4 1100, with its wide handlebar and more upright seat, the hands are freer, which helps with this technique as long as the lever is within easy reach. As lean angle grows, the fingers must release pressure smoothly rather than in steps. Set the EDF099 so the blade meets the fingers near their middle joint when your arms are relaxed and your elbows slightly bent; from there, the fingers can roll off the lever gradually. A blade set too far out forces the hand open and cocks the wrist upward, and a clean release becomes harder. Practise it at moderate speed on a road you know; the lever shapes the feel, not the grip available.
Fitment and Compatibility
The years for the Tuono V4 1100 come in two parts on Accossato's list: 2018, filed under Accossato's own version name Tuono V4 1100 RF, and then 2021 to 2023, the span of the reworked Tuono V4 that arrived for 2021. Owners of a 2018 bike should compare their original lever with the product photos before ordering. No matching Accossato clutch lever is listed for this motorcycle. Blue, gold, green and orange blades exist in all three lengths, silver in standard and short, black and red in standard only.
Road Approval
A German ABE for the EDF099 is not on record. The lever is sold for use on closed circuits.
