The RSV4 Factory arrived in 2009 as the most highly specified road version of the bike with which Aprilia returned to World Superbike. Its racing counterpart won the riders' title in 2010, 2012 and 2014. The Accossato EDF099 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the RSV4 Factory, listed from 2009 to 2017 and again from 2021 to 2024, APRC versions included. It mounts on the original master cylinder and can be adjusted for reach.

Construction and Material Quality
Machined, not cast: the EDF099 is cut from solid aluminium on CNC machines and anodised afterwards. The hub stays black on every version and houses the pivot and the reach adjuster, while the blade comes in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. A blade without a hinge transmits pressure with no give of its own, which is what riders want when they read the front tyre through the brake.
Titles Won on the RSV4
Max Biaggi's two World Superbike titles and Sylvain Guintoli's in 2014 were won on the V4 that the Factory brought to the road, and the braking technique of those seasons still shapes how riders set up their levers. Superbike racers typically brake with one or two fingers, keep the blade close enough that the squeeze begins without any reach, and rely on feel rather than force, because the tyre reports its grip through the lever in the first fraction of every stop. Accossato knows that world from the disc side: its brake-disc experience comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3.
For an RSV4 Factory used on track days, the same ideas translate directly. The short blade, made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, lets two fingers brake while the others stay on the throttle, where they cannot be caught at full pressure. The standard blade of about 138 mm, available in all seven colours, remains the better option for riders who use more fingers or ride the Factory mostly on the road. Set the reach in the gloves you ride in, and after fitting, check the brake light and a small amount of free travel before the first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF099 for the RSV4 Factory from 2009 to 2017 and from 2021 to 2024, including APRC versions. The model years 2018 to 2020 are not part of this listing, so check your original lever carefully against the photos if your bike is close to those years. The clutch side is covered by the ESV004, listed for the RSV4 Factory from 2009 to 2017 only.
Road Approval
Documented German road approval (ABE) is missing for this lever; it is sold for circuit riding only.
