DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Multistrada 1200 S was the version with electronically adjustable suspension, and it came in a whole family of variants, Touring, Sport, GT, Pikes Peak and D-Air among them. Many S owners ride well beyond the summer months, which means thin gloves in July and thick ones in November, and the clutch lever feels quite different through each. For the hydraulic clutch of the Multistrada 1200 S from 2010 to 2017, Accossato lists the FP007, a reservoir cover machined from aluminium and anodised.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the FP007 from aluminium on CNC equipment and anodises it in blue, black, orange, red, silver or gold. It is designed for the standard clutch master cylinders of the bikes on its list, so the Multistrada 1200 S keeps its original reservoir and hydraulics, and only the lid changes. The original diaphragm lies beneath the old cover. Check it before you close the reservoir again, and if it has lost its flexibility or shows cracks, replace it.
Test It With Your Riding Gloves On
A clutch lever is always judged through a glove. Thin summer gloves pass on every detail of the take-up, thick winter gloves blunt it. When the bite point on a Multistrada 1200 S starts to feel vague in the cold months, many riders blame the gloves, yet the fluid may be part of the story too. It absorbs moisture over time and ages whether the bike is ridden or not, so renew it at the interval given in the owner's manual. Between changes, a look at the reservoir tells you a lot: with the bars turned until it sits level, the fluid should lie between the marks and look clear rather than brown. Fitting the FP007 takes only a short time. Cover the tank and fairing, since the fluid harms paint, and keep water ready to rinse off any drop immediately. Open the reservoir briefly and fasten the new cover gently. Then comes the check that matters: put on the gloves you actually ride in and operate the lever several times with the engine off. Feel where the clutch starts to engage and how smoothly the lever moves. If it feels the same as before through your usual gloves, the job is done.
Fitment and Compatibility
For the Multistrada 1200 S from 2010 to 2017, Accossato's list names the FP007 together with a long series of variants: the S Touring, the Sport of 2011 and 2012, the GT of 2013 and 2014, the Pikes Peak and the D-Air versions. The cover fits the original clutch master cylinder. The same part is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the Multistrada 1260 S, the Monster 1200 S and the Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200. Accossato's TS003 front brake fluid reservoir cap is listed for this bike as well. Check the variant of your bike against the list before ordering.
Road Approval
Our records contain no ABE or test mark for the FP007; the cover is therefore listed for track and competition use.
