DescriptionThe whole story▼
When Ducati launched the Multistrada 1200 in 2010, it presented the bike as four motorcycles in one, chosen at the press of a button: Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro. Each riding mode changes how the engine responds, but none of them changes the rider's left hand. Slipping the clutch through a village, pulling away on a gravel track or changing down before a bend, the hydraulic clutch does the work in every mode. For its reservoir, Accossato makes the FP007, an aluminium cover listed for the Multistrada 1200 from 2010 to 2017.

- Made for the original clutch master cylinder, per Accossato
- Aluminium, CNC-machined and anodised
- Six colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, gold

- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The FP007 is made from aluminium, machined on CNC equipment and anodised in blue, black, orange, red, silver or gold. Its shape follows the original clutch master cylinders of the bikes on Accossato's list, so on the Multistrada 1200 it closes the standard reservoir without any change to the hydraulic system. Under the old cover you will find a rubber seal or diaphragm. It keeps the fluid apart from the air, so check it for cracks and stiffness before it goes back, and replace it if in doubt.
Four Riding Modes, One Left Hand
Each mode asks something slightly different of the clutch. In Urban, the Multistrada 1200 spends its time in traffic, and the lever is pulled at every junction. In Touring, with luggage and perhaps a passenger, pulling away on a slope calls for a slow, controlled release. Sport means brisker changes and firmer riding, and in Enduro, on a gravel road, the clutch becomes a fine control at walking pace. All four depend on a bite point that stays where the hand expects it, and that in turn depends on healthy fluid. Clutch fluid ages like brake fluid, absorbing moisture and darkening over time, so glance at the reservoir now and then with the bars turned until it sits level; the fluid should be clear and lie between the marks. Fitting the FP007 is quick. Cover the tank and fairing first, because the fluid harms paint, and wash any drop off with water immediately. Keep the reservoir open briefly, fasten the cover gently, then operate the lever a few times with the engine off. It should feel as it did before; if the take-up has moved, find out why before you ride. Renewing the fluid itself follows the interval in the owner's manual.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list shows the FP007 for the Multistrada 1200 from 2010 to 2017, including ABS models, the Touring of 2015 to 2017 and the Sport Pack. It fits the original clutch master cylinder. The same cover is catalogued at Inter-Pace for the Multistrada 1260, the Monster 1200 R and the Aprilia Caponord 1200. For this Multistrada, Accossato also makes the FP004 oil filler cap and the TS003 front brake fluid reservoir cap. If your master cylinder is not the original one, compare it with the application list first.
Road Approval
The FP007 has no ABE or test mark in our documentation, so we list it for use in motorsport.
