DescriptionThe whole story▼
Mountain roads full of hairpins are where a Hypermotard 950 feels most at home. The wide handlebar gives plenty of leverage, the upright position lets the rider look deep into each bend, and the twin pulls cleanly out of the slowest turns. In the very tightest hairpins, though, many riders still feather the clutch to smooth the drive, and over a day in the mountains the left hand is rarely idle. The clutch is hydraulic, and for its reservoir Accossato makes the FP007, a cover machined from aluminium with an anodised finish in six shades; it is listed for the Hypermotard 950 of 2019.
Key Features
- Cover for the clutch master cylinder reservoir of the Ducati Hypermotard 950, 2019
- Designed for the original clutch master cylinder
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised surface
- Six colours: blue, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- Combines with the FP004 oil cap and TS012 rear reservoir cap
- Fit to be checked against Accossato's application list
- No German ABE on file; intended for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Based in Villastellone near Turin, Accossato mills the FP007 from aluminium before the anodising gives it colour. Black and silver stay close to the factory look; gold, red, orange or blue give the left end of the bar a visible accent. Its shape follows the standard master cylinder fitted to each bike Accossato lists, so on the Hypermotard 950 only the top of the reservoir changes while the hydraulic system stays as Ducati built it. During the swap, look closely at the seal or diaphragm under the old cover; if it has hardened or cracked, fit a new one rather than reusing it.
Hairpin After Hairpin on the Climb
A long climb over a pass can mean dozens of hairpins in a row, each taken in first or second with the lever partly in at the apex. A hydraulic clutch helps here, because its lever feel stays the same from the first bend to the last, but only while the circuit is in good order. So before a day in the mountains, glance at the clutch reservoir of the Hypermotard 950: the fluid belongs between the marks and should not look dark. If you fit the FP007 at the same time, turn the handlebar until the reservoir sits level, drape a cloth over the tank and the headlight area, and keep the reservoir open no longer than the job takes, because the fluid pulls moisture from the air. Any drop that reaches paint must be rinsed off with water straight away. Tighten the cover gently, then work the lever several times with the engine off. The bite point should be exactly where it was; if it has moved, sort it out at home, not halfway up the pass.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's list the FP007 appears for the Hypermotard 950 of 2019, as the lid for its standard clutch master cylinder. We also carry the same cover for the Diavel, the Monster 1200 and the Multistrada 1200. For the Hypermotard 950 itself, the FP004 oil filler cap and the TS012 rear reservoir cap complete the set, and all three can share one colour: red, blue, silver, gold, orange or black. Please compare your bike with the application list before ordering.
Road Approval
No ABE or comparable test document for the FP007 is available to us, so we offer this cover for competition and track use.
