DescriptionThe whole story▼
British weather gives a Daytona 675 plenty of damp mornings and unpredictable afternoons to contend with, and a bike ridden through that climate all year round picks up moisture in places a drier country's bikes rarely see, the exposed thread above the top yoke among them. Accossato's SC005 closes that thread over completely, M24x1, aluminium anodised in eight colours, for the Daytona 675 of 2007 to 2015.
Key Features
- Steering stem nut, closed pattern, for the Triumph Daytona 675
- Accossato's years: 2007 to 2015
- M24x1 thread
- CNC-machined aluminium, anodised
- Eight colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, titanium, gold
- Covers the stem thread fully, unlike the open SA005
- Fixes the upper triple clamp to the steering stem
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato mills the SC005 from aluminium and anodises it in eight colours, orange included, one more than the open SA005 for this bike. The M24x1 thread matches the Daytona's own steering stem, narrower than the nuts made for most four-cylinder sportbikes in this range, and the closed design caps that thread fully rather than leaving it exposed to the weather and whatever a typically British road surface throws up at it over a season of riding.
Riding Through a Damp Climate
A Daytona 675 used as year-round transport in a wet climate has its steering head exposed to road spray on most rides it does, and an open thread sitting just above the headlight catches a share of that spray every single time the bike goes out. The SC005 removes that exposure entirely, leaving nothing open for moisture or grit to collect in between the services where the steering head gets its proper attention, torque and bearing settings taken from the Daytona's own manual rather than borrowed from another bike's figures entirely.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's list for the SC005 covers the Triumph Daytona 675 from 2007 to 2015. The identical M24x1 closed nut also appears in our catalogue for the Triumph Street Triple 675 R and the Honda CBR 600 RR. On the Daytona 675, Accossato also offers the open SA005 and the ST002 and ST008 swingarm bobbins.
Road Approval
We hold no German ABE or test documentation for the SC005, so it is supplied for racing and competition use.
