DescriptionThe whole story▼
This earlier Sherco SE 300, the 300 2 STR. on Accossato's own listing, was built between 2013 and 2018, ahead of the later SE 300 covered by the AC5070. Its filter, the MSH1001, is a foam element carrying the Accossato by Marchald print and fitted inside the airbox at the start of the intake; Accossato again describes it as built with off-road materials and technology for off-road stress.
Key Features
- Air filter for the Sherco SE 300, 2013 to 2018 (Accossato lists it as the 300 2 STR.)
- Accossato code MSH1001, foam filter element
- Accossato by Marchald branding printed on the foam
- Accossato says the filter is built with off-road materials and technology
- Accossato also lists its AC5070 air filter for the same model, from a later build span
- Same filter also listed for the Sherco SE 125, the Sherco SE 250 and the Sherco SEF 450
- No approval documentation on file; built for off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato names the foam element, shown with its Accossato by Marchald print in the product photo, and repeats its off-road materials and technology line for the MSH1001, which earns its place by keeping dust out of the intake side of the engine. There is no filter oil in the box, so a bottle needs sourcing separately before the foam is first due a clean. A filter that no longer holds its shape, shows a split along an edge or sits unevenly once refitted is better replaced than kept running for another ride.
A Fixed Routine for Checking the Older SE 300
An SE 300 of this earlier build has usually covered a fair few seasons by now, which makes a fixed habit of checking the filter more useful than relying on memory for when it was last done. Pulling the MSH1001 every few rides, rather than only once something feels off with the engine, catches a filter working harder than it should before that turns into a bigger problem. On an older bike especially, where other small parts may also be due attention, folding the filter check into a wider routine makes it less likely to be the one job quietly skipped when time is short.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the 300 2 STR. against the MSH1001 for 2013 to 2018, the span used here for this earlier SE 300. The Sherco SE 125, the Sherco SE 250 and the Sherco SEF 450 are listed for the identical filter. Since the later SE 300 takes the AC5070 instead, working out which build year a particular bike is before ordering settles which of the two filters is correct.
Road Approval
No approval documentation is on file for the MSH1001, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for the road. Riders entering a particular series should check that series' own technical regulations before fitting a replacement air filter.
