DescriptionThe whole story▼
The SE 125 built between 2013 and 2018 is what Accossato's listing calls the 125 2 STR., an earlier two-stroke version of the same model name. Accossato's MSH1001 covers that earlier build with a foam filter element, printed with the Accossato by Marchald name, fitted inside the airbox at the start of the intake; Accossato describes it, as with the rest of the range, as built with off-road materials and technology for off-road use.
Key Features
- Air filter for the Sherco SE 125, 2013 to 2018 (Accossato lists it as the 125 2 STR.)
- Accossato code MSH1001, foam filter element
- Accossato by Marchald branding printed on the foam
- Accossato says the filter is built with off-road materials and technology
- Accossato also lists its AC5070 air filter for the same model, from a later build span
- Same filter also listed for the Sherco SE 250, the Sherco SE 300 and the Sherco SEF 250
- No approval documentation on file; built for off-road and competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato confirms the foam element and its Accossato by Marchald print, shown in the product photo, together with the off-road materials and technology line it uses across the range, the filter's job in practice being to keep dust out of the intake and the engine behind it. The filter is supplied dry, so foam filter oil is a separate purchase ahead of the first clean. Once the foam has thinned, split at an edge or lost its grip round the sealing rim, a replacement is the more sensible choice than persisting with it.
Matching the Filter to the Airbox It Was Removed From
This earlier SE 125 and the later version of the same model use two different Accossato filters, the MSH1001 here and the AC5070 for the newer build. Pulling the old filter out and comparing it directly against the MSH1001, or checking its shape against the product photo before ordering, is a sensible step on a bike whose exact build year is not entirely certain. Mixing up the two part numbers because the model name on the tank reads the same either way is an easy mistake to make, and one that a quick comparison against the removed original avoids entirely.
Fitment and Compatibility
On Accossato's listing, the 125 2 STR. sits against the MSH1001 for 2013 to 2018, the span used here for this earlier SE 125. The Sherco SE 250, the Sherco SE 300 and the Sherco SEF 250 are also listed for the identical filter. As the later SE 125 takes the AC5070 instead, working out which build year a particular bike actually is settles which of the two filters is correct before ordering.
Road Approval
No approval documentation is on file for the MSH1001, so Accossato lists it for off-road and competition use rather than for the road. Riders entering a particular series should check that series' own technical regulations before fitting a replacement air filter.
