DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato built this braided brake hose kit for the 2002-2023 Suzuki RM85, and it is swapping the original rubber brake hose for a braided stainless-steel line following the Standard layout. The kit is developed for trail and motocross riders who want the lever to feel the same late in a race as it did at the start. Unlike the rubber original, the braided construction barely expands under pressure, so the lever responds sooner, with less slack to take up before the brake bites.
Key Features
- Braid available in twenty sheath colours to match or contrast with the motorcycle
- Fittings available in plain stainless steel or painted stainless steel in red, green, blue, black or gold
- Standard layout, following the same routing as the factory rubber line it replaces
- Kit supplied as 2 braided hoses to suit this specific layout
- Direct replacement for the factory rubber brake line on this specific model and year range
- Stainless-steel fittings at every connection
- Stainless-steel braid resists the expansion a rubber hose shows under pressure
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's hose for the RM85 is covered by a tightly woven dense stainless-steel aeronautical braid, selected to resist abrasion and pressure-induced expansion over the long term, as specified for the 2002-2023 version of this model. All the banjo and connector fittings in this kit are stainless steel throughout, either left as plain stainless steel or painted in one of red, green, blue, black or gold, a specification Accossato applies to this kit as to the rest of its braided-hose range. The sheath colour choice on this kit runs to twenty options, giving plenty of scope to match or contrast the rest of the RM85. Combined with the painted fitting colours, this gives a wide range of finish combinations to match the rest of the motorcycle.
Standard Layout and Hose Routing
With the Standard layout, Accossato has matched the routing of the 2 braided hoses to the lines Suzuki originally fitted to the RM85, as specified for the 2002-2023 model years. Nothing about the clearances around the frame or forks changes, since the braided hose takes the same path the rubber one always did. A full bleed finishes the job, since trapped air is what stops the firmer lever from showing through.
Fitment and Compatibility
The part number on this kit is matched to the Suzuki RM85 built between 2002-2023, in the Standard layout. Because this part is specific to the RM85, it suits a bike that is designed around the needs of off-road riders chasing a sharper, more consistent lever feel on rough ground. It is worth checking the fitment tab against the exact year on your registration document before placing an order.
Road Approval
No ABE or parts certificate is documented by Accossato for this kit; it is intended for track and competition use.
Scope of Delivery
The box contains 2 braided brake hoses built for the Standard layout. Hollow bolts and copper or aluminium sealing washers are not stated as part of the kit, so it is worth checking what you already have before starting the installation.
