DescriptionThe whole story▼
The PZ013 is Accossato's CNC-made axial caliper, built to a 40 mm distance between mounting centres and a 26.5 mm offset, with four aluminium pistons at 34 mm and 29.5 mm diameter. This listing is finished in nickel plating, a brighter surface than the two oxidised finishes also offered on the same caliper body. A dust seal is fitted, and two AGPA96 pads come already in place, available in organic, sintered or ZXC compound depending on the option chosen. Nickel plating suits a winter rebuild or a dedicated project bike where the caliper is meant to stand out against the rest of the front end rather than blend in.
Key Features
- CNC-made axial brake caliper, 40 mm mounting centres
- Offset 26.5 mm
- Four aluminium pistons, 34 mm and 29.5 mm diameter
- Nickel-plated finish
- Dust seal fitted as standard
- Two brake pads, code AGPA96, included
- Organic, sintered or ZXC pad compound
- Compatible with brake discs 250-300 mm diameter, 4-6 mm thick
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato CNC-machines the PZ013 body and fits four pistons in two diameters, 34 mm and 29.5 mm, both in aluminium, with a dust seal protecting the bores. Two AGPA96 pads are supplied already fitted, in whichever of the three compounds is selected at checkout. The nickel-plated finish used on this listing is applied once machining is complete, the same process stage at which the hard-oxidation and black-oxidation alternatives are treated instead.
A Finish for a Dedicated Project Build
A winter rebuild gives more time to plan a caliper's finish against the rest of the bike than a quick repair does, and nickel plating is the option on the PZ013 that departs furthest from the stock black look of most factory calipers. Paired with polished fork legs, a brushed swingarm or other plated hardware, it reads as a deliberate styling choice rather than a replacement part, while the compound chosen underneath, organic, sintered or ZXC, can be picked independently to suit how the finished bike will actually be ridden rather than how it looks sitting on a stand. The 40 mm mounting centres and 26.5 mm offset stay the same as on the oxidised versions, so no other part of the build needs to change for the sake of this finish.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the PZ013 as a universal axial caliper, so the 40 mm mounting centres, 26.5 mm offset and the disc diameter and thickness already planned for the build should be checked against the figures Accossato states before ordering, together with whichever caliper adapter the project requires and the disc range of 250 mm to 300 mm diameter that the caliper is designed to clamp.
Road Approval
Accossato does not provide ABE documentation for the PZ013 in Germany, and fitting an axial caliper in place of the original brake caliper is subject to registration before road use; this should be clarified with a testing authority beforehand. Because the braking system is safety-relevant, installation should always be carried out by a qualified workshop.
Scope of Delivery
1x Accossato PZ013 axial brake caliper, supplied as a left caliper or right caliper, in nickel-plated finish, with two AGPA96 brake pads in the selected compound already fitted.
