DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Accossato PZ013 is a CNC-made axial brake caliper with a 40 mm distance between mounting centres and a 26.5 mm offset, carrying four aluminium pistons in two diameters, 34 mm and 29.5 mm. This listing is finished in hard oxidation, and comes with a dust seal and two AGPA96 pads already fitted in the compound chosen at checkout. Three compounds are available on the PZ013: an organic compound, a sintered compound and a ceramic ZXC compound, each suited to a different kind of riding rather than being interchangeable choices with no real difference. The caliper is sold as a left caliper or a right caliper and is compatible with discs between 250 mm and 300 mm in diameter.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato machines the PZ013 body by CNC and fits four aluminium pistons sized at 34 mm and 29.5 mm, a staggered layout the manufacturer uses across its axial range to combine a strong initial bite with progressive modulation further into the lever stroke. A dust seal is fitted to keep grit away from the piston bores, and the two AGPA96 pads ship already in place. The body receives a hard-oxidation treatment in this listing, one of three finishes offered on the PZ013.
Choosing a Pad Compound for the Way the Bike Is Used
The organic compound Accossato offers on the PZ013 favours longer service life and limited wear on the disc, which suits a bike that covers ordinary road miles between occasional outings. The sintered compound holds a consistent grip across hot, cold and wet conditions, a more even response for riders who push the caliper harder or ride in changeable weather. The ceramic ZXC compound is aimed at racing use, where maximum bite matters more than disc wear or cold-weather feel. All three compounds fit the same caliper body and the same AGPA96 pad shape, so the choice comes down to how the bike spends most of its time rather than any change to the caliper itself.
Fitment and Compatibility
The PZ013 is sold as a universal axial caliper rather than against a named motorcycle list, so the 40 mm mounting centres, 26.5 mm offset, disc diameter and disc thickness already fitted should be checked against the figures above before ordering, together with whether a caliper adapter is needed to carry the axial mount. Accossato specifies this caliper for discs between 250 mm and 300 mm in diameter and 4 mm to 6 mm thick.
Road Approval
Accossato does not provide ABE documentation for the PZ013 in Germany, and fitting an axial caliper in place of the original brake caliper is subject to registration before road use; this should be clarified with a testing authority beforehand. Where the ZXC pad compound is specified for racing use, that compound belongs on the racetrack rather than the road. Because the braking system is safety-relevant, installation should always be carried out by a qualified workshop.
