DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Yamaha FZ1 Fazer is a half-faired machine, set up for a more upright, everyday riding position than a fully-faired sportbike. That relaxed ergonomic layout is exactly what turns a Fazer owner's mind towards sportier riding once the bike feels familiar, and footrest position is usually the first thing to change. Accossato's FT085 is an adjustable racing street rearset for the FZ1 Fazer built from 2006 to 2016, made in aluminium, keeping the standard gear change pattern.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds the FT085 in aluminium and calls its own design simple and functional rather than decorative. The knurling on the footrests and on the tips of the gear and brake levers gives a boot sole something to bite into, which matters more on the FZ1 Fazer than it might seem, since the bike's touring-leaning seating position means a rider moving into a sportier crouch is relying on the pegs for support they did not need before. Aluminium plates behind the pegs act as heel guards, and the whole rearset sits further back than the FZ1 Fazer's original footrests. Accossato finishes the FT085 all black, or black with blue details picked out on the plates and the adjusters, and the shift pattern stays standard throughout.
A Trackday Project Built on a Road Bike
Moving the footrests back and up is one of the most direct changes available for a rider who wants more from the FZ1 Fazer on a circuit, because it changes how much the rider can tuck in and how far the bike can lean before a boot or a peg touches down. On a bike built first for comfortable distances rather than knee-down cornering, that extra margin matters well before anything else on the FZ1 Fazer gets changed. The knurled footrests and lever tips on the FT085 give a boot something to key into through that steeper lean angle, and because the shift pattern stays standard, taking up the new position does not mean relearning how to change gear on the FZ1 Fazer as well.
Keeping Grip When the Weather Turns
A road-biased machine like the FZ1 Fazer spends plenty of its life in weather a dedicated track bike never sees, and wet, cold mornings are exactly when boot grip on the footrest matters most. The knurled surface on the FT085 gives a sole something to key into even when it is damp, rather than relying on a smooth original peg that can let a boot creep in heavy rain or standing water. The same texture on the lever tips means a gloved toe or heel still finds the gear and brake levers positively when conditions are poor, which matters on a bike many riders still use through the winter as well as on dry summer trackdays.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives the FT085 for the Yamaha FZ1 Fazer, badged as the FZ1 1000 on that list, across its full 2006 to 2016 production run, and our listing follows those years exactly. No other Accossato rearset is listed for this model, so there is nothing else to compare it against before ordering. A fitter should still check the exact build year against the application list, since Accossato groups a long production run like this one under a single part number.
Road Approval
Accossato does not provide a German ABE or any comparable test document for the FT085, so we sell it for track use on the FZ1 Fazer rather than for the public road.
