DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ask around a club racing paddock and someone will have a story about a Suzuki SV650. The V-twin has long been a favourite of riders who want to race without a factory budget, partly because it needs so little before it can line up on a grid. Accossato's FT090 is an adjustable aluminium rearset listed for the SV650 of the 2015 model year, under the name SV 650 S in the Italian company's application list. It sets the footrests further back than stock and keeps the standard gear shift.

Construction and Material Quality
There is nothing elaborate about the FT090, and Accossato, whose home is Villastellone near Turin, designed it that way: aluminium rearsets with a simple, functional shape. The footpegs have a knurled surface, the tips of the gear lever and brake pedal are knurled too, and aluminium plates protect the heels. Accossato states that the set is adjustable but does not describe the adjustment in detail, so we make no promises about its range. What the description does say clearly is the effect: the rider's feet sit further back than on the original parts. Versions in all black and in black with gold details are available.
Spending the Budget Where It Counts
A club racer's budget is always shorter than the list of things the bike could use. Experienced racers often advise spending first on the parts the rider touches, meaning bars, levers and footrests, because every lap is felt through them; engine work can wait. The reasoning is simple. A rider who can hold on comfortably, change gear cleanly and move across the seat without hunting for the pegs will lap faster and more consistently than one fighting the ergonomics of a road bike. On a middleweight twin that depends on corner speed, consistency is worth a lot. Rearsets that move the feet back are therefore among the typical first changes on a race-prepared SV650, along with tyres and brake pads. One point deserves attention before you order: the FT090 is made for the standard shift pattern only. If you are used to a reversed race pattern from another bike, this kit will not provide it, according to Accossato's description.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names a single model year for the FT090: the SV650 of 2015, listed as SV 650 S. For the SV650 of 2016 to 2018 there is a separate kit, the FT106, so check your bike's model year in the registration documents before ordering. Installation should be done by a workshop familiar with the SV. It will set up the gear linkage, give the rear brake pedal the right free play and make sure the brake light works. Suzuki's torque values apply, and thread locking compound goes wherever the manual calls for it. Try the new position on the stand before your first practice session.
Road Approval
There is no German ABE or Teilegutachten on record for the FT090. We therefore offer it for racing and track days rather than for road use.
