DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders who take a Suzuki GSR750 to their first few track days often buy proper race boots along the way, and the first sessions in them come as a surprise. The sole is stiff, the toe is armoured and the feel for the gear lever and brake pedal is far vaguer than in the softer boots used for everyday riding. Accossato's FT091 rearsets for the GSR750 of 2011 to 2016 give a boot like that knurled pegs and lever tips to work against, set the feet further back than Suzuki's footrests and keep the standard shift.

Construction and Material Quality
Accossato builds the FT091 from aluminium and describes the design as simple and functional. Knurling on the pegs and on the lever tips is the feature that matters most to a rider in stiff boots, because it gives a hard sole something definite to push against. Aluminium heel guards are part of the set. Accossato calls the rearsets adjustable without detailing the method or the positions. For the GSR750 you can have them all black or black with gold details.
Stiff Boots, Less Feel
Race boots are built to protect the foot in a crash, and that protection has a price. The thicker the sole and the stiffer the toe, the less you feel. A gear lever that is easy to find in soft boots becomes a vague object under an armoured toe box, and a toe that slips off a smooth tip in the middle of a change leaves you between gears at the wrong moment. The same goes for the brake pedal, where you want to sense the first bite of the pads rather than guess at it.
Knurled surfaces help, but so does the set-up. When the FT091 is fitted, have the workshop adjust the height of the gear lever with the boots you actually ride in on track, not the trainers you wore to drop the bike off. There should be enough room to get the toe under the lever without lifting the foot off the peg, and the brake pedal should sit where the ball of the right foot can cover it. With the feet further back than on the standard GSR750, the way the boot meets the levers may change, so what felt natural before may need a small correction. Try it on the stand, in full kit, before the first session.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT091 for the GSR 750 from 2011 to 2016. The kit replaces the rider's original footrests, gear lever and brake pedal and retains the standard pattern. Besides setting the lever positions, the workshop should check the free play at the brake, test the brake light and tighten all fasteners to Suzuki's specified torque, with thread lock where the manual calls for it.
Road Approval
No ABE or German parts certificate is on record for the FT091; we offer it for track use rather than for public roads.
