DescriptionThe whole story▼
Kawasaki reworked the ZX-10R thoroughly for 2016, and its racing versions dominated World Superbike in the seasons that followed. Riders who take one to a circuit soon learn what racers know: a fast motorcycle is steered with the whole body, and much of that happens through the footpegs. Accossato's FT105 rearsets for the ZX-10R of 2016 to 2019 put the feet further back than Kawasaki's own footrests and keep the standard shift pattern.

Construction and Material Quality
The FT105 is aluminium from footpeg to heel plate, built to the simple, functional design Accossato applies to its rearsets. Its pegs are knurled, and the same treatment is given to the tips of the gear lever and brake pedal. Unlike the FT027 for the earlier ZX-10R, this set is listed with the standard shift pattern only. Accossato describes it as adjustable without saying how, or across how many positions. Two versions are available: all black, or black with green details.
Steering Through the Pegs
Watch a fast rider through a series of bends and the hands seem to do very little. The work happens lower down: the outside knee pressed into the tank, the balls of the feet on the pegs, the hips shifting across the seat before each change of direction. Coaches argue about how much pressing on a peg actually helps a bike turn, but they agree on the point that matters. A rider anchored by the legs can keep the arms relaxed, and relaxed arms steer precisely.
On the ZX-10R, a superbike that rewards precise, deliberate inputs at speed, that anchoring counts for a great deal. With the footrests further back, many riders find it easier to load the outside peg through a long bend and to keep the upper body low. The knurling on the pegs stops the boot from sliding when you push hard, and the heel guards give the heel a solid edge to rest against as you move from one side of the bike to the other. Before the first session, try the position on a paddock stand in full gear, and check that the ball of your left foot reaches the gear lever without leaving the peg.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the FT105 for the ZX-10R 1000 of 2016 to 2019; for the 2011 to 2015 bikes there is the FT027, which also offers a reversed pattern. The FT105 replaces the rider's footrests and controls. A workshop should fit it, adjust the gear and brake linkages, check the free play and brake light and tighten all fasteners to Kawasaki's torque figures, using thread lock as specified.
Road Approval
The FT105 has no ABE or parts certificate documented for Germany. We therefore sell it for the circuit, not for the road.
