DescriptionThe whole story▼
Dashed is one of five decors in this line still without manufacturer product photography at the time of writing; the description here is built from the supplier's own colour and decor naming rather than an image. Shark's price list names this colourway White Blue Red, which the Dashed name suggests is expressed through a broken-line graphic pattern rather than a solid block colour, consistent with how this line's other geometric decors are built around linear motifs. The Dashed name across Shark's range typically denotes a broken, segmented line motif rather than a continuous stripe — consistent with the geometric, linear design language the brand uses on several of this line's other decors, though without a photograph the exact execution here remains unconfirmed.
Finish
Shark's price list records this decor as glossy, distinct from the Dashed Mat colourway listed separately in this line. Beyond the finish type and the supplier's colour name, no further description of the graphic layout can be offered honestly without a product photograph to check it against. Because no photograph exists yet to confirm it, this description of the finish (glossy, per the price list) should be read as the one verified detail here, distinct from the unconfirmed colour layout discussed elsewhere in this listing.
About the Dashed decor family
Dashed, like Skilful, is offered in both a glossy and a matte finish within this same line — a pairing pattern repeated across several of the newer 2027 graphics in this range rather than unique to this one decor.
ECE 22.06 on the Dashed graphic
Every Dashed colourway, this one included, is certified to ECE 22.06, the standard mandatory across the EU since January 2024 for newly homologated helmets. It replaced the older 22.05 with a considerably harder protocol: eighteen impact points instead of five, several test speeds instead of a single one, an oblique-impact test against a rough anvil that twists the shell, and a first-time score for rotational forces through a Brain Injury Criterion. The full assembled helmet is what gets tested.
Fibre shell, Dashed decor
Dashed uses the same multiaxial composite fibre shell as every other decor in this line — cross-laid glass fibre, built to be Shark's accessible entry point into the Spartan RS family rather than a lesser version of the carbon model sold alongside it. Certification, closure, EPS density and visor family are identical between the two shells; carbon's advantage is a smaller first-size weight figure and a different look, not a safety upgrade.
What the weight figure means, Dashed
Dashed weighs 1500 g at the first shell size per the manufacturer's own figure, with an independent test unit for this line reading 1530 g. Either number sits in ordinary territory for a fibre full-face helmet. The weight is not carried passively — it loads the neck through every brake, lean and head movement across a ride, which is the more useful way to think about a helmet's mass than the gram figure alone.
Ventilation on Dashed
Two intakes — chin bar and forehead — and a permanently open rear-spoiler exhaust make up the airflow system. The controls are described as chunky and glove-friendly, though without click-stop detents fine positioning is a matter of feel rather than a defined setting. Independent testing rates the result as sufficient for daily riding rather than a strong point of the helmet.
Visor system, Dashed
A drop-down sun visor with distinct click positions covers most of the face, a detail independent testers call out favourably. The outer visor is the VZ300 family: optical class 1, 2.8 mm to 2.2 mm variable thickness, four-point anchoring, central grip-and-lock, anti-scratch coating, and a clear Pinlock 120 insert fitted as standard.
Visor swaps on Dashed
Dashed uses the same tool-free four-point visor lock as the rest of the line, so switching to a spare or tinted visor takes a few minutes rather than a dealer appointment. The anti-scratch coating ships standard, not as an accessory.
Intercom compatibility, Dashed
The shell carries the same cheek-pad cavity as every Spartan RS decor, sized for Shark's Sharktooth intercom or a SENA For SHARK unit to sit flush rather than external. No comms unit is bundled with the helmet.
Sizing, Dashed
Six sizes are built across two shell sizes, not three — a genuine limitation reviewers name for this line, since more shells generally mean a better match at the extremes of the size chart. The upside is a rounder internal fit than many rivals, good for riders who find Shoei or Arai too narrow, with cheek pads that adjust independently.
Wind noise on Dashed, honestly
No manufacturer decibel figure is available. One independent test describes appropriate, unremarkable road noise at legal speeds on both sport and naked bikes; another raises an unmeasured concern that the Spartan RS's lack of a tight neck roll — present on the older Spartan GT — could let in more noise at motorway speed. Both accounts stand as given.
Spare parts, Dashed
This Dashed decor's visor is covered by Shark's standing Spartan RS spare-parts listing. The VZ300 family fitted here is shared with the Spartan RS Carbon and the Spartan GT Pro Carbon, so replacement tints and clear visors remain available as long as any of those three current lines are sold.
Where this sits in Shark's own range
Dashed is priced at 389.99 EUR. Set against Shark's own 2027 lineup rather than a competitor's:
| Line | UVP range | Shell |
|---|---|---|
| Skwal i3 | 319.99 - 399.99 EUR | Thermoplastic, LED brake light |
| OXO | 349.99 - 459.99 EUR | Thermoplastic modular |
| Spartan RS (this decor: 389.99 EUR) | 359.99 - 389.99 EUR | Multiaxial composite fibre |
| Spartan RS Carbon | 429.99 - 529.99 EUR | Carbon, same VZ300 visor family |
| Spartan GT Pro Carbon | 549.99 - 629.99 EUR | Carbon, also shares the VZ300 visor |
Limitations, honestly
This particular Dashed colourway has not yet been photographed by the manufacturer, so everything said about White Blue Red above comes from the price-list wording rather than a verified image, unlike the six decors elsewhere in this line where a photograph backs the description up. Order with that gap in mind. The line's standard two-shell sizing and the absence of a decibel figure for wind noise apply here just as they do everywhere else. Until a photograph is published, ordering this specific colour code sight-unseen carries more uncertainty than ordering one of the six photographed decors in this line, a trade-off worth weighing against the colour appeal of the White Blue Red name alone.
