The shin receives a moulded TPU shield backed by D3O — a rate-sensitive material that absorbs and dissipates impact energy far more effectively than conventional foam. The same D3O logic is applied to the ankle cups, where the risk of injury in a slide or low-speed tip is highest.
The moulded TPU heel cockpit locks the rear of the foot in place and resists deformation during impact, while the reinforced toe box guards against crush injuries. The polycarbonate anti-twist shaft adds torsional resistance along the entire boot shaft, and the hinged ankle support allows natural movement when riding but resists harmful twisting forces in the event of a get-off. A TPU toe slider completes the protective package, protecting the boot's toe area during spirited road use.

RST redesigned the internal profile of the Tractech EVO D3O specifically to improve gear-change feel. The forefoot section has been narrowed so the boot sits closer to the gear lever, allowing lighter, more accurate shifts — a detail that matters every time you accelerate out of a corner. The articulation zones across the upper have also been reworked, giving the boot a more natural follow-through with the foot as you move on the pegs.
The hook-and-loop zip closure pulls the boot snug around the foot and lower leg quickly and securely, while an integrated shift pad protects the upper in the area most exposed to lever contact. The outer shell combines microfibre and ripstop for a construction that is both lightweight and durable, and the classic black finish pairs cleanly with any riding gear — leather suit, textile jacket, or anything in between.
