DescriptionThe whole story▼

Future II in white and blue is the brightest finish on this shell, and on a touring helmet that spends whole days among drivers who have never seen you before, it is the version with the most straightforward case behind it.

Carbon throughout — chin bar included

🔵 The 6K designation describes the tow — 6,000 filaments per bundle — which gives a visibly regular weave and a good stiffness-to-weight balance for a shell this size.

The whole structure is carbon: crown, sides, rear and the rotating chin bar, over a multi-density EPS liner.

No safety rating — and why the Advant X stars do not apply here

🔵 If an independent rating is what you are buying, the answer is simple and it costs less: the composite FF901 Advant X holds 4 SHARP stars, was tested in July 2024 against ECE 22.06, and is the same helmet in a different shell material.

This carbon version is 50 g lighter, gains X-Static, and has never been crashed by anyone independent.

A flip-up with P/J dual homologation

🟢 What P/J buys you in practice: a helmet you can legally and sensibly ride open through a town, at a border, in a queue or up a pass in August — and close in seconds when the weather turns.

🔵 The release is a single central catch, operable with one gloved hand.

About the Future II white and blue graphic

What decides how quickly a driver resolves a helmet is its value — how light it is — rather than its hue, and a white-dominant finish sits at the top of that scale. Against dark tarmac, against a hedge, against the back of a lorry in flat winter light, it separates faster than any coloured finish and considerably faster than bare carbon, which reads as very dark grey at any distance. The blue elements add edge contrast on top of that, which is a second and independent mechanism: value gets you noticed, edges get you locked onto. 🔵 There is a heat argument too. A modular is worn for long stretches on a touring day, and a pale shell reflects solar load that a dark one converts into liner temperature. The cost is washing — fly strike and motorway film show clearly on white, and touring produces plenty of both. Wash it wet and more often than you would a carbon finish.

Twin Visor, Pinlock 120 XLT and a tinted spare

The case for a drop-down shield over a tinted outer visor is that it is reversible instantly. Into a tunnel, under trees, past sunset — it retracts, and the clear visor is still on the helmet.

🟢 On a touring helmet that passes through several kinds of light in a day, it is the feature you use most.

Chin and crown intakes, channelled EPS

🔵 Wind noise is left unrated. No independent measurement exists for this model. Reviewers generally find modular helmets louder than comparable full-faces at motorway speed — that is an impression rather than a measured result, and we present it as one.

The breath deflector cuts some of the turbulence from below.

Metal buckle and the Emergency Release System

🔵 A metal micrometric buckle rather than a plastic one is a small specification that shows over years. It is the component you operate several times a day for the life of the helmet, and metal does not fatigue the way a moulded catch does.

🟢 It works in gloves, without looking.

X-Static lining and everyday comfort

🔵 A new helmet should feel firm everywhere and painful nowhere. Padding compresses over the first hours and again across the first season, so the size that feels right in the shop is often one too large by the following summer.

Buy on the snug side, and fit thicker pads later if you need them.

Carbon or composite — which Advant X to buy

🔵 If you want carbon and do not need a flip-up, LS2's FF807 Dragon is a carbon full-face at about 1450 g that does hold 4 SHARP stars, and also ships with a Pinlock and a tinted spare visor.

🟢 What it cannot do is open at a fuel stop, which is the whole reason to buy this one.

Care and replacement parts

On a modular, the hinge and lock see the most cycles of anything on the helmet. Keep the mechanism clean and dry, and operate it deliberately.

🔵 The Pinlock insert is a consumable too — a soft-coated lens that scratches more easily than the visor behind it. Replace it when it hazes.

In the box

  • LS2 FF901 Advant X Carbon helmet — Future II, White and blue over carbon (100 % 6K carbon shell and chin bar)
  • Clear main visor, fitted, with tool-free quick release
  • Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ XLT anti-fog insert
  • A complete second visor in a tint — 🔵 daylight use only in most European jurisdictions
  • Integrated drop-down sun visor, fitted
  • Breath deflector, fitted
  • Backpack
  • 🔵 No intercom — the helmet is prepared for a Bluetooth system, which is a separate purchase

Size guide

🔵 Buy tight. Every helmet loosens as the padding compresses, noticeably over the first hours and again across the first season, so the correct size at purchase feels slightly too snug.

Thicker cheek pads are available if it loosens further.

  • Colour — Future II — White and blue over carbon
  • Homologation — ECE 22.06, P/J dual homologation — approved closed and open
  • 🔴 Safety rating — none. SHARP lists an „ADVANT X" at 4 stars, but records it as composite fibre, 1.6 kg — the HPFC version, not this 6K carbon shell at 1550 g. Brand list checked in full: no „Advant X Carbon" or „FF901 Carbon" entry; Certimoov has none. The stars are deliberately not carried over
  • Helmet type — Flip-up touring — chin bar rotates 180° to the rear
  • Shell — 100 % carbon fibre, 6K weave, including the chin bar. 🔵 Two shell sizes only (XS–S–M–L / XL–2XL–3XL)
  • Impact liner — multi-density EPS with moulded ventilation channels
  • Weight — approx. 1550 g (±50 g). 🔵 The composite Advant X is 1600 g — carbon saves 50 g here
  • Sizes — XS to 3XL (seven sizes), no XXS. Prepared for Bluetooth intercom; no system supplied
  • Optics — Twin Visor System — main visor plus retracting sun visor
  • 🟢 Included — Pinlock® 120 MaxVision™ XLT, a complete tinted second visor and a backpack, plus a breath deflector
  • 🔴 Tinted visor — daylight only — most European jurisdictions bar tinted visors at night
  • Ventilation — chin and crown intakes, channelled multi-density EPS, rear exhaust port. 🔵 assessed from construction; no independent measurement exists
  • 🔴 Wind noise — left unrated — no measurement published. Reviewers generally find modulars louder than comparable full-faces at motorway speed; that is an impression, not data
  • Retention — micrometric metal buckle
  • Emergency access — Emergency Release System — tabs let responders withdraw the cheek pads first
  • Interior — X-Static® silver antibacterial lining on laser-cut foam; hypoallergenic, removable, washable. 🔵 the composite Advant X is not listed with X-Static
  • 🔴 FIM homologation — none — a road helmet; no modular is FIM-eligible
  • Serviceability — both visors, sun visor mechanism, cheek pads (several thicknesses), lining, vent covers, breath deflector
  • Replacement guidance — after about five years, and immediately after any impact — carbon can look undamaged over crushed EPS
