Speed-Tech Mat ist das einzige Dekor dieser Schale, das eine Grafik statt des reinen Gewebes trägt: eine mattschwarze Basis, durchzogen von einem rot-blauen Streifen, der von der Visierkante zurück zum Spoiler läuft, mit dem SHARK-Schriftzug an der Flanke statt in einem Abzeichen versteckt. Wo Carbon Skin und Full Carbon die Faser selbst als Finish verkaufen, verkauft dieses hier Bewegung — eine Lackierung, die für Tempo gemacht ist, kein statisches Farbmuster.
Die leichteste Schale dieses Paares
Dieses Dekor teilt seine Schalenkonstruktion mit dem Rest der Carbon-Seite der RS-Jet-Reihe — eine Verbundschale aus Kohlefaser über mehrdichtem EPS, anstelle des Materials des einfachen RS Jet für weniger Gewicht und mehr Steifigkeit eingesetzt. Sharks eigener Gewichtswert für dieses konkrete Dekor liegt bei 1.280 g für die erste Schalengröße, nochmals leichter als Carbon Skin oder Full Carbon mit je 1.430 g; ob dieser Unterschied aus einem anderen Lagenaufbau unter der Lackierung stammt oder schlichte Fertigungsstreuung zwischen Chargen ist, erklärt Sharks veröffentlichtes Material nicht — deshalb wird die Zahl hier als eigener Wert berichtet, nicht mit den anderen beiden zu einem Durchschnitt geglättet.
Offen am Kinn, konstruktionsbedingt
Auch unter der Lackierung bleibt dies ein Jethelm, und ein Jethelm hat keinen Kinnbügel. Die untere Gesichtspartie liegt unterhalb der Visierlinie offen, ohne Ersatz für den Strukturschutz, den eine Integralschale über Kiefer und Kinn bieten würde. Das ist der Tausch, den jeder Fahrer eingeht, der sich für diese Form statt für eine geschlossene entscheidet — ein freies Sichtfeld und schnelles Auf- und Absetzen gegen Abdeckung am Kinn — und es lohnt sich, das direkt zu sagen, statt es erst später entdecken zu lassen.
Was ECE 22.06 tatsächlich prüft
ECE 22.06 ist die Zertifizierung dieser Schale, die Norm, die ab Januar 2024 22.05 als zwingende EU-Zulassung für neu homologierte Helme ablöste. Der Test selbst hat sich wesentlich verändert: achtzehn Aufprallpunkte statt fünf, über mehrere Geschwindigkeiten statt einer, dazu ein schräger Aufpralltest gegen eine raue Oberfläche, den der alte Standard nie kannte — bewertet nach den Rotationskräften, die ein streifender Treffer ins Gehirn schickt, nicht nur nach der geradlinigen Kraft eines Falls. Die Lackschicht ändert nichts daran, was darunterliegt: Norme 2206 auf dem Preisblatt, kein FIM-Zusatz, eine Straßennorm statt einer Wettbewerbsnorm.
Gewicht als Zahl, die Ihr Nacken den ganzen Tag trägt
1.280 g ist eine für einen offenen Helm wirklich leichte Zahl, und sie zählt über die reine Ziffer hinaus: Jedes Gramm, das ein Helm wiegt, trägt Ihr Nacken während der gesamten Fahrt, nicht nur im Moment, für den er gebaut ist. Eine leichtere Schale zeigt ihren Wert weniger beim ersten Eindruck als am Ende eines langen Tages, darin, wie viel weniger ermüdet sich Ihr Nacken im Vergleich zu einem schwereren Helm anfühlt, der dieselbe Aufgabe erfüllt.
Belüftung an einer offenen Schale
Seitliche Lufteinlässe speisen den Visierbereich direkt, ohne die Komplexität der Kanalführung, die ein Kinnbügel einer Integralkonstruktion aufzwingt. Ein offenes Gesicht erledigt bereits einen großen Teil seiner eigenen Kühlung dadurch, dass die untere Gesichtspartie dem Fahrtwind ausgesetzt ist, und diese Schalenform arbeitet damit statt dagegen.
Visier: VZ360, seitliche Verriegelung
Das montierte Visier der Familie VZ360 entriegelt seitlich, ist für den Langstreckeneinsatz mit freier Positionierung jenseits fester Raststufen gebaut und kommt bereits mit einem Max-Vision-Pinlock-Einsatz mit verstellbarer Spannung. Es trägt eine kratzfeste Beschichtung und sitzt auf einer Vier-Punkt-Verankerung. Jede getönte oder Iridium-Option für diese Visierfamilie wird separat verkauft und ist ausschließlich für den Rennstreckeneinsatz gekennzeichnet — keine straßenzulässige Montage, an diesem oder jedem anderen Dekor, das die Schale teilt.
Windgeräusch, ehrlich betrachtet
Eine leichtere Schale und eine lackierte Grafik ändern nichts an der Aerodynamik einer offenen unteren Gesichtspartie: Kein Kinnbügel bedeutet keine Abdichtung, und dieser Helm ist bei Tempo lauter als ein Integralhelm, nach derselben konstruktiven Logik, die für jeden Jethelm am Markt gilt. Kein Dezibelwert ist dafür veröffentlicht, also wird hier auch keiner erfunden, um diese Lücke zu füllen.
Wo dieses Dekor preislich steht
Bei 319,99 € ist Speed-Tech Mat das teuerste Dekor im RS-Jet-Paar — über beiden schlichten Carbon-Finishes bei 279,99 € und deutlich über dem alleinigen Einstiegspunkt der Standardschale bei 249,99 €. Im breiteren Feld liegt es innerhalb der eigenen Spanne des Skwal i3 Jet von 289,99 € bis 349,99 €, dem preislich vergleichbarsten offenen Helm — der allerdings ein LED-Bremslicht mitbringt, das diese Schale nicht kennt.

Ersatzteile, später
Das hier montierte Visier der Familie VZ360 und sein Pinlock-120-Einsatz sind unter denselben Teilenummern gelistet, die Shark über die gesamte RS-Jet-Reihe verwendet, Grafikdekor wie schlichtes Dekor gleichermaßen. Ein zerkratztes Visier an diesem Helm zu ersetzen ist genauso einfach wie am schlichtesten Dekor der Reihe.
Passform aus der Schale
Sechs Größen decken diesen Helm ab, XS bis XXL. Sharks eigenes Material zu diesem Dekor gibt nicht an, wie viele getrennte Schalenformen hinter diesen sechs Größen stehen, deshalb bleibt diese Zahl hier unbenannt statt aus der Angabe eines Geschwistermodells geraten.
Was diesem Helm fehlt
Keine SHARP-Bewertung existiert für diesen Helm unter irgendeinem Namen, den die eigenen Listen des britischen Programms zurückgeben. Kein MIPS, keine DOT- oder Snell-Zulassung, kein veröffentlichter Windgeräuschwert, und kein LED-System jeglicher Art. Speed-Tech Mat ist eines von drei aktuellen Dekoren dieser Schale, das einzige mit lackierter Grafik statt freiliegendem Gewebe, und sein eigener Gewichtswert ist tatsächlich leichter als seine beiden Carbon-Geschwister, kein Rundungsunterschied.

Das klare Visier ist montiert, sein Max-Vision-Pinlock-120-Einsatz bereits eingesetzt, dazu reflektierende Bänder und Sharks Standarddokumentation. SENA- und Sharktooth-Interkom-Kompatibilität ist ab Werk in die Schale eingebaut, unberührt von der Lackschicht darüber, und das matte Finish braucht dieselbe Pflege wie jede matte Schale — kein Wachs, keine Polierpaste, nur ein weiches Tuch und Wasser.
