One-piece bodywork has no provision for a plate at all, which means the hanger, the lamp and the bracket all leave together.
What the Manual Says
Nothing about removing the hanger, because Ducati has no reason to document a change it does not sanction. The silence is not evidence that the job is difficult.

The controller wants a specific load on a specific circuit. Supplying it is what separates this from a bodge that produces a different warning.
The Panel Is Worth Keeping Clean
A dashboard with one warning on it hides the next one. That is the practical argument for answering circuits rather than tolerating them.
The Case Against a Spliced Resistor
It produces the same electrical result and costs almost nothing. It also sits in the wettest, dirtiest part of the motorcycle, where a crimp corrodes quietly and returns the warning six months later at the least convenient moment. A sealed body with the right plug on it exists precisely to avoid that afternoon.
Why the Plate Lamp Is Watched Separately
Ducati's body controller treats each lighting circuit as its own item, because the legislation behind them does. That is why a machine with a tail tidy can show one warning and a machine with an LED tail unit can show a different one, and why clearing the first has no effect at all on the second.
