Concrete is a warmer, denser grey than Nardo and it comes in matt rather than gloss — the version for a rider who wants a grey helmet that reads as a material rather than as a colour.

A four-star shell in six sizes

Most full-face helmets in this class use one, two or three shells. This one uses six, which is why it is noticeably more compact on the head than its rivals at the same size.

Airflow that reaches your head

What is documented is the layout: chin and top intakes, ducted EPS, rear exhaust. That is a description, not a verdict.

About the solid concrete matt finish

The name is doing real work here. Where Nardo grey is a cool, slightly blue industrial tone, Concrete sits warmer and heavier, and under a flat finish it reads much more like a cast surface than a painted one. On a compact shell like the Vector II's that suits the shape: there are no reflections travelling along the curves, so what you see is the geometry of a helmet that six shell sizes have made properly proportioned. Practically it combines the two properties that matter most over years. A mid grey hides road film better than any other value, and a matt finish has no clear coat for handling marks to catch in — and this is a helmet that gets picked up and set down constantly, because it is compact enough to be carried by the aperture. 🔵 Matt has one absolute rule: wash it, never polish it. Abrasive compound cuts a permanently glossy patch into a flat coat and nothing will blend it back out. If you are choosing between the two greys at 220 €, both hide road film equally well. Nardo is the cooler tone in gloss and shows the shell's curvature; Concrete is warmer, matt, and forgives careless cleaning entirely. Neither will need any real attention across five years of use.

Holding on, and letting go

Correct strap tension: snug under the jaw with room for one finger and no more. If you can roll the helmet forward off your head with the strap fastened, it is loose or the wrong size.

🔵 A ratchet holds at a preset length and that length drifts as the padding beds in — re-check it after the first rides and each season after.

The part you actually touch

🟢 Pre-moulded intercom pockets are worth more than they sound. On a helmet without them, speakers sit against the padding and press over a long ride; here there are recesses shaped for them.

🔵 No intercom system is supplied. Check speaker depth rather than diameter before ordering one.

Where it sits in LS2's range

🔵 Against LS2's FF817 Challenger II at 280 €: that one has three shells to this helmet's six, COOLMAX rather than a plain hypoallergenic lining, and no rating at all.

🟢 The Vector II is cheaper, finer-sized and independently tested. On paper it is the better buy.

Care and replacement parts

🔵 Never clean a composite shell with solvent, petrol or alcohol. The lacquer is the UV barrier for the resin beneath, and once it is attacked the damage is invisible at first and structural later.

Warm water and a soft cloth is the whole procedure.

Size guide

A tape gets you to the right size; it cannot tell you about head shape. If a correctly-measured helmet presses at the temples while gapping at the forehead, that is shape rather than size.
