DescriptionThe whole story

Three laps is all a hard-ridden Brutale Dragster RR 800 needs to put its front brake at the top of its window. The reference is the B002 - 55.0 mm of friction height over 75.5 mm of length, on the Brembo fitment the Brutale Dragster RR 800 uses. EXR is new for 2026 and succeeds EXC Endurance rather than sitting beside it in the B002.

Key Features

  • Consistent across the whole 11-year listing for the Brutale Dragster RR 800, so a used bike takes the same reference as a new one
  • Ceramic sintering rather than a resin binder, so there is nothing in the B002 to cook out at the top of the range
  • Machined, not moulded: the B002 plate is cut to the Brembo outline rather than pressed to an approximate one
  • The Brembo caliper spreads under peak pressure; the B002 plate is cut stiff enough to keep the friction face flat while it does
  • Initial bite in the order of EXC Endurance, with a progressive build-up that returns the modulation EXC traded away
  • Developed on the same ceramic platform ZCOO supplies to endurance teams at Suzuka and the Bol d'Or

Construction and Material Quality

Manufacture is Japanese and unchanged across the range, the B002 included. A Brembo caliper spreads under peak line pressure, and a plate that yields with it moves the contact patch onto the pad's edges. On the Brutale Dragster RR 800 that translates into a lever position which does not creep as the pad thins.

Performance and Feel

ZCOO quotes a figure for EXR that most pad makers avoid quoting at all. EXR is the compound ZCOO now supplies to its endurance teams, in the B002 shape the Brutale Dragster RR 800 takes. Which on a Brutale Dragster RR 800 is the whole reason to change compound in the first place.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Brutale Dragster RR 800 of 2015 to 2025 the B002 is the shape ZCOO lists. Front axle only; the B002 has no rear counterpart in the ZCOO programme. The same B002 shape covers 75 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 75.5 mm length and 55.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
