Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Voge Valico DS (2020) CM251S

One service item on the Voge Valico DS never has to be ordered. Oil, pads and cartridges all come out of a box; the air element does not have to. A Sprint Filter CM251S is cleaned with an air line and put back, so opening the airbox stops being a question of supply and becomes a question of an hour on a Saturday. On a machine registered in 2020, several intervals down the road, that is the difference between an intake that gets inspected and one that keeps getting postponed.

An interval that costs an afternoon

A replacement panel is a small purchase repeated forever, and every repetition can be put off for one more service. That is how the intakes of well-kept motorcycles end up neglected: not through carelessness but through a run of reasonable postponements, each of which waits on a delivery. Remove the purchase and only the work is left, and the work is short. Nothing about this is a power claim. A drop-in element does not make a standard Valico DS noticeably quicker, whatever the surrounding trade would like you to believe. It keeps the intake at one resistance, and puts it back there whenever you decide to.

Something you can actually read

A paper panel is normally thrown away without ever being examined, so it answers no questions about the air the machine has been drawing. A woven element held up against a light does: an even face, a shadow on one side, grit caught around the frame. That is information about your roads, and it arrives at no cost because the part goes back in afterwards. The same panel serves the whole Voge group on this number, nine listings from 500 to 625 cm³, so a garage with two of them keeps one routine rather than two part numbers.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air, from the clean side outwards, is the standard service for the CM251S. Where mud or a salted road has left more than dust behind, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent, rinse it until the water runs clear and stand it somewhere airy until it is completely dry.
