The facts.

DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Superveloce is bought for reasons that have very little to do with lap times, and it tends to be kept rather than traded on. That is the useful thing to know when specifying anything for it: the owner is not shopping for a modification, and quite often the bike is still inside its factory warranty. Any change worth making therefore has to be reversible, invisible and defensible.

Key Features

  • Replaces the factory panel inside the standard airbox — nothing cut, drilled or repositioned
  • No remap is required, and the fuelling stays as MV set it
  • Dry woven polyester, used without oil, so nothing coats the intake sensors
  • Around twice the filtering area of other performance elements
  • 80 µm aperture with a rated flow of 5,050 l/m²/sec
  • Washable, reusable, and covered by two years of warranty

Reversible in ten minutes

Every part of this change can be undone by putting the original element back, which is not true of most things sold to make a motorcycle breathe better. There is no cone hanging in the frame, no lid removed, no aftermarket map to strip out of the ECU, and no hole anywhere that was not there before. For a machine likely to be sold on in original condition — and judged on exactly that — a consumable swap inside a sealed housing is about as safe an intervention as exists. Label the MV panel and keep it in the box CM135S arrived in.

The habit it needs

A washable element only repays the outlay if somebody actually washes it. There is no warning light and no service prompt: the airbox simply has to be opened now and then, which on a Superveloce means removing bodywork that owners are careful with. The realistic plan is to tie it to something already in the diary — the annual service, or the day the bike comes out of winter storage. What it will not do at any stage is make a standard engine noticeably stronger, and anyone promising that about an insert filter is selling something else.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air, clean face first, blown outwards until the weave stops giving anything up. If the season has been hard on it, wash in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until the water is clear. Then let it dry entirely in air; heat of any kind, including a flame, a heat gun or a warm radiator, damages the polyester and never saves enough time to be worth it. Nothing is applied afterwards — the element is refitted dry. Sprint Filter's maintenance sheet sits in the Downloads tab.

Fitment & Compatibility

Fits the MV Agusta Superveloce 800, Oro, Ago and Nero Carbon versions included, from 2019 to 2026. Eleven MV Agusta triples share this element; the Fitment tab lists them all.
