Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Honda ADV350 (2021–2026) SM222S

A geared motorcycle asks its airbox for a sawtooth: demand climbs through a gear, falls away at the shift, climbs again. The ADV350 has no shifts. Under load its automatic transmission holds the engine near one speed and lets road speed change underneath it, so the intake sees a plateau where a geared machine sees a run of peaks. That is a small difference in description and a larger one in what it implies for the element sitting in the housing.

A plateau instead of a sawtooth

On a geared bike the intake's busiest moments are brief and scattered. Here they are long and unbroken, because the transmission keeps the engine where it wants it for as long as the throttle stays open — through a whole climb, a whole slip road, a whole overtake. Whatever the element costs is therefore a steady term rather than an occasional one. That argues for a medium whose restriction stays low and predictable right across the service interval, which is what a washable cloth in the standard housing is for, rather than for any headline number.

What stays exactly as it was

Everything but the material. Airbox, ducting, injection and the transmission's own calibration are untouched, and the element is a straight exchange inside the housing that reverses whenever you like. It should be said plainly that this is not a performance part: an insert filter does not make a standard machine noticeably stronger, and a 350 automatic is no exception. What changes sits on the maintenance side, where the material can be brought back to a known state at any time instead of only being renewed on a date somebody else set.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air does nearly all of it. Hold the line against the clean face and work outward, so the dust leaves along the route it took coming in. When a wet or gritty week has left more behind than air will move, lukewarm water and a mild washing-up detergent finish the job, rinsed until the water runs clear. After that the SM222S dries in open air and only in open air: heat guns, radiators and flame deform polyester, and a deformed element seals badly while still looking perfectly serviceable.
