Every time the visor of a Spartan RS opens or closes, it turns on the underplates at either side of the shell. FX8100P replaces them, in finish code KMA.

Fitting
Remove the visor first, then the old underplates, and fit the new ones in the same position. Shark's price list does not include a procedure, so take a photo before you start and keep track of any small parts. Once the visor is back on, work it through its full travel a few times and check that it closes evenly on the seal. The price list names the Spartan RS directly for this number, in the model column.
Signs it needs replacing
A visor that no longer holds its position, jumps between steps, or sits unevenly on the seal often points to worn underplates. The plates carry the whole movement of the visor, so they wear with use. KMA is a code without a colour name from Shark; match it to the plates you are replacing.

Take out the washable lining and hand-wash it in lukewarm water. Clean the shell and visor with a soft cloth and water only — never solvents.
