Signs it needs replacing
Grit in the sun visor slot leaves long, fine scratches, and those are exactly where your eyes are. If the visor no longer comes down fully, if it has cracked at a mount, or if the tint has worn through in patches, replace it.
Approval and legal use
A sun visor is a tinted visor. Use it in daylight and put it up when light fades; the outer visor does the work at dusk and at night. We do not quote an approval mark because Shark's data gives none, and the rules for tinted visors differ from country to country.
Fitting
Lower the sun visor, release it from its mounts as described in the OXO manual, and clip in the new one. Then work the slider through its full range several times. It should come fully up into the shell and drop evenly on both sides.
